Uchu Sentai KyuRanger Episode 5- "The Nine Ultimate Saviors!"
The Orion Team bands together to begin the liberation of Earth. But will they be strong enough to take down the planet leader?!
As always you can view this episode via live stream on Saturday by heading over to Taima TV. They play other miscellaneous programs up until the live broadcast starts. Live Streams of the Superhero Time block start at 5:30 PM Eastern Standard Time on Saturdays. |
Gonna wait for subs on this one, but loved what I saw.

Interesting to note, the show has actual story arcs.
On their website, Toei broke it down like this: Episode 1 through 5 are the prologue Episode 6 onward will be the "Earth Liberation" arc. Gives me hope Earth won't be the setting for the rest of the episode. |
A certain melon-armored warrior returns to the genre as a guest actor in this episode.

Also yes, I too hope they leave Earth in later arcs. Maybe not permanently but at least for a good 13 eps for a change. Heck, why bother calling them Uchu Sentai if all they do is mope around Earth all day? :lolol |
man, Xiao Longbao is good at playing dumb. He is the one who sent Stinger to be Jark Matter spy.

When a show still has me hype to see the next episode despite seeing the raw, I think it's safe to say I like it.

It was alright.
If these first 5 episodes were the prologue, then I expect the real meat of things to get started. And it's beginning with the pegasus armor and a dance class. Naga looked so hilarious when he was trying to break dance that I want to watch the episode on that virtue alone. As for the episode, I wanted more from Champ. We still don't know the circumstances behind why Stinger "killed" his creator. It seems next episode won't delve into that, either. Anyway, so it turns out Stinger was a spy all along. How quaint. I wonder what other secrets Xiao has. I'm quite curious to know where Stinger's subplot with Scorpio is also going to go. It's implied that he's still alive, so...Possible evil Kyuranger? After all, he did betray his planet with an evil smirk across his face. ...Though, if I know my shonen animu, I'm pretty certain he did it for a good cause or something *Shrug* Just speculation, nothing solid. If this arc is called the Earth Liberation arc, then it gives me hope that they'll leave the planet soon (Well..."Soon" being relative...). Action was a mix of good and lame. Par for the course for Sentai as a whole. When the Kyurangers can use their more unique abilities (Like Raptor's flight or Stinger's tail), then it's a complete joy. When it's Lucky swinging a sword, I'm much less impressed. KyurenOh continues to disappoint. Stinger's add-on is just...A laser? And it's not even unique because Champ can just fire a laser, too? Jeez. Hell, even if it did have a whip style addition, Chameleon, Hebitsukai, and Balance all have that, too...Man. For a robot with so many possible configurations, I'm actually a little disappointed that "Sword" is the only actual unique addition. |
For the first time in a while we have a really good Sentai and a really good Rider series back to back. This is going to be a fun year. If Kotaro ends being Koguma Skyblue then we'll have our first human ranger on the team.

Seeing all 9 rangers transform at once made my weekend. I can't wait until the other two Kyurangers debut!
|
While I do like the idea of those two kids possibly becoming Kougama Sky Blue, their acting didn't really leave me hoping they do :lol
