It depends since they also got Revoltechs like Deku and All Might in pretty much when they came out. So it's hard to say imports in general are delayed for them.
|
So I found SHF Build RabbitRabbit on Mandarake for as low as 5000 yen. Shocking to me, but then again I heard there was a problem with the belt? What's that all about?
|
The first batch of RabbitRabbit has an error on the driver. The "wheel" actually belongs to the Evol Driver, rather than the Build Driver. It's not something you'd notice unless you REALLY paid attention, or someone told you, but it is an oversight, nonetheless.
It was bad enough that Bandai offered replacements if you sent the incorrect pieces to them. https://toys-photo.com/imege/SHF_KAM...T_FORM/4-6.jpg For those who still can't see it, notice the giant, round mechanism just below the Hazard Trigger? The exact pattern inside that circle is actually exclusive to the Evol Driver. They almost look like little bubbles. https://toys-photo.com/imege/SHF_KAM...K_FORM/4-6.jpg It was fixed in TankTank, as you can see here. This is how it's supposed to look. |
The second run of RabbitRabbit when pre-orders got really popular - which is the one I got myself - also fixed the issue.

Anyways back on topic. On Ultraman SHFs we got Leo (and Astra) and 80 for Showa side left right? I hope they'll come out next year, I can't wait for them to start making Heisei Ultramen already. Although sadly 80 will most likely be P-Bandai. |

As for what Showa boys are left to do... Leo has been shown off finally, but aside from him, Astra and 80 keep in mind that there's also Father, Mother and King -- all of which are arguably a lot more major and well-known. Also, Yullian. So I think we could see them before an eventual Tiga. |
I can't exactly find the image, but I found out that the SHF Black Hole Evol's side skirts are attached differently than normal.
The skirt is made of a soft plastic that is stuck together with a ring that goes onto the ball joint on hips instead of each individual pleat of the skirt being attached to ball joints on the side of the hips. This allows the figure to move the legs farther to the side. I dunno if this is new or I'm dumb but I'm 80% sure that we'll see this on the Saber SHFs. Speaking of Saber SHFs, when does Calibur end on pre-orders? My local sellers haven't opened up for him yet and a Burning Jin is really tempting right now. https://livedoor.blogimg.jp/hacchaka...7ffbc7ed-s.jpg |
Question for those that own the base Ghost Figuarts :
Could these hands from Musahsi be swapped on the Ore Damashii to recreate this pose or is the articulation too restricted? https://cf.shopee.vn/file/eaf75fbe91...a111eaa30c2387 |

I tried to find images or video reviews of Ore using Musashi's but it's surprisingly hard; some of the reviews I found did note that Ore can use them though. At the very least there's images out there (such as this one from the on-site gallery) which show the hands about as close to each other as they would be with that piece, and it shows there's plenty of room. https://ae01.alicdn.com/kf/HTB1QbCoN...t-Damashii.jpg https://news.tokunation.com/wp-conte...-Ghost-028.jpg |
Thanks! The Ghost figure is one I’ve been on the fence about, even though I’d like to have all the base forms of the riders. I seem to be clinging on to hope that it gets a renewal but it’s probably the least deserving of one.
At least I could get it in a cool show accurate pose with minimal effort; these Ghost figures seem easy to find |

I STILL argue the Ghost figures are decent, hindered yes, but they are quite nice figures in their own right.

They definitely should be able to move more. |

Despite the ball joints being the same as any other Figuart, the entire torso almost cannot move at all. You can't do an ab crunch or arch the back. You can BARELY turn the waist. The parka is a harder plastic than what you'd expect, and it is also adhered to the torso in multiple spots. This pretty much makes the chest and stomach a single unit. Because of how they handled the hood, the figure actually has more articulation with the hood on than without it. With the hood down, the head articulation is basically hindered by a giant collar. The hands cannot be angled at all because the collars on the hands are absolutely MASSIVE. The shoulders are a bit weird at first, but it's not so bad if you just tuck in the extra parts into the torso if you want to get wider angles. No matter what, though, you cannot get the same angle most other Figuarts can, but I don't think any kind of engineering could have really saved it. |
Yes, I own Ghost and Spectre and the only issue is the parka and small neck peg in my opinion but other than that they look great in poses. The Ghost figuarts use the same legs as the Build figuarts. The Ghost figuarts is starting to go back up in price from what I seen on Mandarake....it's hovering around 5000 yen or more.
|
The Ghost figuarts are held back by the Parka paralyzing their torso, right? Wouldn't it be an easy fix to just cut the pegs that is connecting the Park to the torso so that the jacket just floats on the torso and help free up the ab crunch?

The waist also still barely turns even with the parka removed. Believe it or not, the parka isn't the sole perpetrator for the lack of articulation. It's as if the Ghost line was intentionally designed to have less articulation than other Figuarts. Grateful is an excellent figure, though. |
Maybe that's why we never got Mugen as a figuart yet but hopefully, the prototype they showed off last year has soft plastic but I don't know why it's so hard for them to give us wired cloth since they charge premium prices anyway.

Outside of a Dragon Ball release (That got delayed...), Ixa is my most excited release of the year.
I cannot wait for him, and if I get the chance, I will buy a second one. |

Kamen Rider Black PO now live on Tokullectibles
|
Tokullectibles new website layout is trash and I don't like it.
|
I'm looking on various toy websites, and I'm contemplating bad decisions (financial, but probably also emotional), and it's late at night, and I've got a question for folks. Super subjective, possibly divisive, but I need some feedback.
I don't really buy Figuarts normally. I'm not a big action figure guy. I prefer stuff that has a creation component (Figure-Rise, SO-DO), or non-toku stuff that has a puzzle element (Transformers). I don't really buy Marvel Legends or Black Series or Lightning Collection or any of that stuff. I certainly don't buy high-end action figures. I don't really play with them, interact with them, enough to feel like they're worth the cost. They just sit up on a shelf for me to look at. But, like, that's why I do buy some Kamen Rider Figuarts. If I've finished a series, I get a Figuarts of the main Rider's main suit and I put it on the shelf. It's a little trophy, something to commemorate a point in my life. Thanks to the Rider Kicks rereleases a couple years ago, I picked up a bunch fairly cheap. With recent Seihou releases, I've been able to close out a few more. Now, what's left is a bit more of an investment. I'm finally taking the plunge on some Seihou figures that were previously out of my reach. Ordered the Wizard Flame Style a couple days ago from AmiAmi's used section, bundling together with a few preorders that were shipping out. That plastic boy was a piece I've wanted for a while, and he came out to a Not Terrible If I'm Using Money I Got As A Gift amount of $140. Now I'm looking around at other stuff and... like I said, I could use some feedback. I don't really want to rebuy a figure down the line. If I buy an Agito (for instance), I want it to be the last Agito I'm going to buy. I'm honestly not super-picky with my figures, so they don't need to be flawless. I just... I don't want them to suck? So, here's my question: Would you say it's worth paying the current aftermarket prices for the base suit Seihou versions of Kuuga (not Decade), Agito, Hibiki, Kabuto, Decade (original, not Neo) and Double? Again, for my purposes, I just want the best-looking figure I can get. Limited articulation doesn't really bother me, but wonky scale/design would. Do you think a better version of those characters is likely to be released? Do you think the Seihous for those characters have aged poorly? I'm not really looking to get talked into or out of any imminent purchases, but I'm curious if you think I'd be better served holding off on any of those figures. Thanks in advance for your help! |
I can't speak for many of the other Seihous, as I haven't handled them personally, but as for Kuuga, oh man, he's an amazing release. I honestly can't see how they could do him any better. If you feel the price is worth it, yeah, the Seihou is THE definitive Kuuga action figure.
Of that list, the only other things I can comment on are the bad elbows on Kabuto and Decade, as well as to be weary of the diaphragm joint on W(it can lead to serious paint scratching if you're not careful). But if you're willing to deal with those, go for 'em. Otherwise I'd just settle for FRS. |
Kabuto and Hibiki are the only ones that I think could potentially have aged poorly. They're still amazing figures, and look fine alongside the others, but compared to the other SS figures, they are a bit thinner.
In my opinion, aside from the RAH figures, you won't find better versions of Kuuga, Agito, Decade, and W. And if you wait around a little, Kuuga can be found for less than the others. Kabuto and Decade apparently have an issue where the elbows can break, though I've not experienced that on mine (knock wood). Worth the money...I'm not sure. I've managed to catch good deals on most of them aside from Hibiki, but I guess it depends on how important they are. I paid far too much for my SS Daguva and Ultimate Kuuga, but don't regret it at all because of how much I love those designs. Just for my opinion, if you can find them $150 or less, I'd say yes, absolutely. |

The figure-rise standards are coming in smoothly anyway. And since you can paint, it shouldn't be that big of a problem to substitute SHF slots for FRS ones. |
You'd honestly find the Decade version of Kuuga for cheaper than the OG release, I feel.
I'm pretty sure it's literally just the same figure, just rereleased as Decade's version of Kuuga. |

In regard to Kuuga, as Kurona mentioned, the paint is different between the two versions but it's a very small difference that isn't even relevant unless you're looking at them together (And even then it's barely noticeable). Everything else about the two releases is identical. I'm not sure what the cost difference between the two is right now, but if it's significant, the Decade version might be the way to go since it's basically the same thing. You can check Den-O's gallery/review of the Decade version and he has some comparison photos between the two so you can see the difference. |
I personally found it easier to find Decade Ver, though ultimately the price isn’t much cheaper— it’s difficult to find the original release more than it is expensive to get.
|
Only one of those I have is Seihou W, and he's an incredible figutre. I'm not sure how much he goes for nowadays, I got him for around $60 secondhand, and he was absolutely worth that. If he's one of those Seihous that goes for $150+ though, I'm not sure I'd consider him worth that. He's definitely the ultimate representation of W, but that's quite a lot of money for a single 5.5 inch figure. Then again, I don't know your financial situation, if you don't mind spending that much on a figure, he's definitely one of the best ways to spend that money
