DX Kiramaizn
1 Attachment(s)
first look at the actual mecha toy.
|
Maybe its just the angle of the pose they chose, but the yellow crane arm looks so tiny!
Anyhow, what a sparkly robot... I feel like I can only admire it while wearing jewels of my own so as not to feel inadequate. |
As DX toys go, that's definitely far from the worst I've seen. It's a pretty decent representation, and I really like the sparkling!

Combined with the oversized green shoulder, wide right arm AND huge blue sword(?), it makes the whole robot visually off balance. :eyebrow Arrangement-wise, it looks... unusual to me. It looks like they give too much space for the red vehicle that the blue plane has nowhere to fill. NOT a fan of placing an entire main vehicle from the main team as a weapon. Really weird design. I think it's better if they can keep the whole silhouette balanced, with each limbs having similar sizes, to give the robot a simple & elegant look, like many of 80s or 90s sentai mecha. Elegant look also works best with the jewel motif, like Kamen Rider Wizard. Perhaps they can combine the sparkly look with jewelry shapes, such as ring, bracelet, necklace, tiara/crown, earring(!), etc. :) |
There is a promotional version that comes with a red recolor of the green vehicle like what was shown in the first scans from the show.
|
This is certainly a unique formation. Blue being a weapon reminded me of Mega Voyager's V3 Missile. Does this mean there will be auxillary zords that are going to be strictly weapons for the megazord?
|
The proportions really hurt the DX toy. Hopefully the minipla helps with that. Kiramaizin is still a beautiful design, but it doesn’t translate into toy form as well as KishiryuOh did. Even though they both have that slimmer build I guess KishiryuOh being more organic handles curves better than blockier vehicles.
On the positive side I’m glad the 5 piece combo is the default. Still hate blue is only the sword, but all 5 look amazing together. Plus it’s pretty cool that blue and pink can make their own robot along side red, green, and yellow. Can’t wait for those pics. The translucent parts and foil stickers really make Kiramaizin stand out, and I’m really excited by the possibility of some real transformation. Not bad so far. |
This toy would be spectacular if just had the proportions closer to the in-show suit. It seems like someone insisted on making all the non-Red vehicles the same size, when it would've been much better if they'd made Yellow bigger and shrunk the other three. And maybe also shrunk the truck/legs part of Red while keeping the ladder/torso+arm part the same size. Honestly, if it had those proportions, Blue's wings folded flush instead of sticking out like that, and the head was bigger, this would've been pretty close to perfect.
|
So this is a little wierd, on the one hand the mecha is a bit wierd porpotion wise being a bit bottom heavy with a case of Trex arms, but it also looks to have a unique transformation that intagrate all of the part without too much parts forming.
Wondering if it has lights and sound just based on the the screenshots of the show and the overall design. Overall I like it and will probably by it |

Kiramagers sans Blue: Alright! Eat this! *swings sword*
Blue: *BARF* |
Ugh the legs are way to blocky and yellow is to small. The face looks like one of the gobusters mecha lioh.

Why do people insist on spelling "whoa" as "woah?"

As someone who's still on the fence about liking the suits, I can safely say that I'm IN LOVE with the mecha. Goodness gracious aren't they just gorgeous. The clear plastics and foil stickers really help make the colors pop out.
|
It looks like he skipped everything EXCEPT Leg Day.
|
I am getting Daibouken Shovel and Great Go-Buster vibes from this DX Kiraimaizin....:D
Overall DX Kiramaizin looks very cool :D |
When I saw the yellow arm I immediately thought of this scene from Scary Movie 2 - lol

As I look at Blue, I see that the wings can fold but I also see that the front can also do some kinda folding as well. I'm wondering if there will be more alternate forms possible based on the main five, and "Yes!", I want more pictures of those forms. If Blue and Pink can form their own battle mode, those images are a necessity. |

The head near Pink's rotors has slightly different coloration than the main Kiramaizin head. The fists near the back of Pink are actually hard to miss and kinda clash with the color-scheme. Based on this, Pink will probably form a main part of the torso and Blue will fold its front part and probably either form legs or torso half and legs! |

The green car also has a couple of hinges not used in the robot mode, to make it square for its stone mode. |
The proportions of... everything make it look pretty wonky. I can't say I'm a huge fan of the toy version, but it's kind of growing on me. I do like the sparkly clear plastic though!
|
Annoyingly, the red car we initially saw is a lottery prize, according to the Bandai blog.
|
This looks pretty bad honestly. Even as far as Sentai mecha toys go this one kinda sucks.
|
If Red has electronics in it, that would explain the wonky proportions. And honestly, if it makes the other vehicles light up too, that would actually be worth it because that image of Kiramaizin all lit up is gorgeous.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't it the case that the suit and toy designs come first, then the suit and prop designers work out how to adapt those designs into live action? Assuming this to be the case, then it's less that the Kiramaizin toy isn't accurate to the suit design, and more that the suit design isn't accurate to the toy design. Which to be fair, it seems to be continuing a trend from Ryusoulger of having slimmer, more agile suits for the mechas.
|
I like it, has that weird energy I'm enjoying. However, I'm going Minipla because I don't want the DX version. Though I hope that the Pink/Blue mecha looks good. Tag-team!

Well, that’s disappointing. It looks like crap, the weird way the green car connects combined with the huge sword make it look super unbalanced, and the whole design just lacks form and detail. The clear plastic makes it look cheap, too.
Maybe the alternate combinations will look better? There’s a lot of unused hinges and the pink copter has obvious sculpted and painted fists. |
I’m initially optimistic, and hoping for a return to cluster truck final modes and/or mini-pla. I like what I’m seeing but it’s just enough off to make me wait until we see more before I make any purchases.
I’m just dazzled by the shinies, I guess. |
Here's more images of the individual vehicles:

Though this confirms no electronics. Just glittery stickers. Man the paintwork is sparse on these. |

So I guess when Pikotaro and Mabusheena approached Shiguru to be the blue ranger they must have told him giant boss battles will be a different experience for him.
Shiguru: So I get to fight evil by putting my acting chops in real combat. Nice. Mabusheena: Just one thing. You are gonna pilot a jet. But it is also a sword. You're insured, right? Shiguru: Huh? |
Meh. it looks kind of ugly to me, which is a shame because I LOVE the mech design. I'm hoping the minipla is nicer.
