Cool stuff!!
|
Ooh boy, something tells me this gonna be a blast.
Or pointless. |
They've been building it up a lot. Brands are hit and miss with managing hype so I'm not getting my hopes up.
|
To be honest the only thing I'm interested in out of all of this are the merch reveals. See if there's anything good.
|
Just saw it - there is!

Any figures? Which resource? |
All will be revealed today!

Whoa! I need that Figuarts-scale book Woz is holding!
|
What do they mean by Zi-O hype? Is it b going to be the next one to get official subs?
|
Aw man, I just got a shipping notice for the Kiva logo from Tokucollectibles too for much more haha. Oh well. At least this is another chance at the Zero One logo, so I've got that ordered now. :)
|
Those shirt designs are...not good?
|
Some of this is actually kinda big; Premium Bandai has had an American branch for a while but mostly for Gundam and Dragon Ball. It's NEVER had Rider stuff.
But now we're seeing Premium Bandai-exclusive Sodos? SHF Nameplates? Figure-Rises? This is... it's not like we're getting PB SHFs simultaneously sold or anything, but it's a HUGE step. |
If this is just the first day of reveals, you have my attention. It may not seem like much to some, but most of the items being offered like this were pipe dreams. The shirts especially. Official toku apparel over all I never thought I'd see brought to the west, let alone sized accordingly.
|
Holy crap this is huge! I'm not gonna cancel my pre-order of the Kuuga stand I already have with Tokullectibles, but I am DEFINITELY ordering that Kuuga shirt!
Team Kamen Rider wasn't kidding when they said we were gonna be getting a big boost! |
Oh, man. OH, MAN. I don't really wear t-shirts with designs on them, but I've always thought those 20th Anniversary designs were striking, and being able to get them on different color shirts?! Ex-Aid on Pink? Double on Green? Gaim on Orange? OH, MAN.
Feels like I'm in for a real bad week of having money. |
I'm totally down for graphic tees!
Gonna order a Kiva one for sure. If they're still available after that, might get more.. measurements are never enough for me to tell if something will fit, so want one in hand first.. But anyway, just wish it came in yellow lol. |

Also, yeah, a bunch of great colors with some glaring exceptions. I can get an OOO shirt in red or green but not yellow?! That's his torso color! Sacrilege! Let me speak to Alexander Amazon, the head of the Amazon website company! |
Ordered OOO and Ex-Aid. Was gonna go pink for Ex-Aid but the purple goes better with his eye and name colors. Red for OOO.
|
I ended up going Gray for Kuuga. Red or Black were the obvious choices, but Gray really complimented the graphic and it's also my favorite color so...
Maybe I'll get an OOO shirt in the future too if this isn't a limited time thing. |
I really wish these were available in Canada.

I wish we could see how the shirts collectively are selling. Might be an interesting look into which series are most popular in the states.
|
Please understand that a lot of things are out of Bluefin's control. I can't speak to the shirts, but I can say that the items available on the Bluefin website are so small in quantity that there's no way they could distribute them. There's a very good possibility that some of those items will sell out.
Now, as for the shirts - these were shirts that were originally offered on Premium Bandai during the Heisei Generations Forever movie in Japan. They were offered in Japan sizes and only on black. The fact that they're willing to press the shirts in the US, with US sizes and new colors - should be jaw-dropping. I encourage everyone to buy SOMETHING ... Bandai and Toei are watching. Literally. |

I just hope they're not watching too closely, you know? I got weird thoughts about Kamen Rider and I'm terrible about sticking to a budget. I'd hate for them to feel like they need to release less products, out of guilt on my behalf. |

Super curious what other shirt/color combinations other folks ordered. If you bought a shirt, please post it! I need ideas! Because I found out I have money left*! And that makes me uncomfortable! (*: by money, I of course mean 'credit'. "Money"! Hilarious!) |

Mmm these are fairly solid merchandise things... sadly being a fan of multiple toku, and all the new debuts happening in the past few weeks... it's hard to say if I want them.
Cause their tempting, but also Ultraman Z just got Beta Smash tonight and made me consider getting a Z-Riser even more so. I have the money but it's like... I don't want to splurge too much. Ah... the pains of being a Toku Fan... |

(I'm actually kicking myself for not getting the Ex-Aid shirt in Brown, to homage Ride-Player Nico, the 2nd best character in Ex-Aid.) |

I'm personally hoping this will lead to Bandai Premium getting TWE releases in the future, as I'm sure many are hoping for, but overall Rider support increasing as a whole would be fantastic. |
*sobs* lucky Americans.
|
Candy-toys like SO-DO have been historically difficult to get distribution in the US. One of the reasons is that they are designed to be sold in non-toy specific stores so lack a lot of the stuff that sells in the US, like box windows and blister packaging. Also the candy inside them technically have to be removed before sale.
I'm glad they are testing the waters with the Kuuga set but I worry it won't sell well and send the wrong message. It's a P-Bandai set but it isn't marketed as such so they just look like overpriced candy toys. SO-DO are supposed to be like $4 a box. I've already had friends ask if if they are "as big as regular figures" and be surprised to find out some parts are actually stickers. |
Quote:
But, y'know, maybe the P-Bandai stuff is the way to start with SO-DO? It's not the sort of thing you can get cheaply from an importer. It's four figures in one box, no dupes or leftover halves. For me as a fan, it was something I wanted but didn't feel comfortable paying middleman prices for. So, yeah, this was the perfect thing for them to offer. (Also, since it's a limited item, they probably don't need to move a whole bunch to make it worth offering.) I don't know. It's probably not the sort of impulse buy that'd get a lot of interest from fans, but it's also exactly the sort of thing I'd like Bluefin to offer in the US. I hope it does well enough for them to continue serving SO-DO fans. |
This is gonna be HYPE!!! Looking froward to the festivities. Will there be something happening before the Generations Forever screening and Zi-O streams on the 11th?
|
So if I understand everything correctly, Bluefin was supposed to start doing something today. If so, I haven't had enough time to look into any of it. Is there a concise answer as to the tone of what was done earlier?
|
A friend of mine that works at DHL told me that he saw packages label "Kamen Rider Kicks". Said he didn't catch where it was going. But at least he saw it. Lol!
