Ninninger Episode 45- "Three Generations! All the Ninjas Gathered!" Discussion
At last the Ninningers have learned Grandfathers' deepest secret: to inherit the title of Last Ninja, they must kill the current holder.
Do any of them have what it takes to gain true Nintality? As always you can view this episode via live stream on Saturday by heading over to Taima TV. They play other miscellaneous programs up until the live broadcast starts. Live Streams of the Superhero Time block start at 6:30 PM Eastern Standard Time on Saturdays. |
Probably one of the most action-packed episodes I have watched in my five seasons of watching Super Sentai (been watching since Gokaiger). Absolutely loved this episode!

Okay, I really liked this episode. Gabi Raizou actually seems useful, there were a lot of cool fights, and the alt red costumes were really cool. The only thing I didn't like was that it basically took a laser light show to make Kibaoni Gengetsu seem powerful, since he barely moved (I assume due to the bulkiness of the suit.) Last week's episode left me ready to just move on to Zyuohger, but this episode actually has me hyped to see the end.
Also, is showing clips from the movies during the openings a common thing in Sentai nowadays? Cuz I kinda really don't like it. |
I will say I enjoyed the fight between Gengetsu and The Last Ninja, as well as the triple-red roll call. Also that Gabi Raizou hasn't been killed yet.
That said...still had issues. The episode made you think Kinji would do something extremely drastic to fight Kyuuemon, possibly almost kill himself. But no, all he did was possess his own weapon to form a new attack...The hell was the ominous foreshadowing for then? Don't trick me into thinking of stuff that could have been more compelling than what actually happens. Their revelation about how they should just form their own paths seemed kinda dumb to me, too. I mean it makes sense in context, but that's all you had to say before you could suddenly fight Kyuuemon equally? With the same attacks as earlier no less? It felt so rushed to me. And the smaller nit-pick: Their grandpa could turn into his own Akaninger this whole time...? I figured there'd be a reason for it, but no...Just happens. |
I forgot to say this in my earlier post, I also REALLY liked how they brought back the old 5-man cannon attack for this episode. I don't know if it's gone from modern Sentai, or just wasn't around for this series, but it was a nice addition.
