Power Rangers Super Megaforce Season Finale - Legendary Battle - Discussion & Poll
This is it.
Emperor Mavro and the Armada have launched their final attack on the Power Rangers. The zords are all destroyed. The city is in ruins. Orion, the Silver Ranger, has left Earth after believing the Armada to be finished. The Power Rangers are out-numbered and out-armored. This is it - the final battle. But this time, the Power Rangers won't have to do it alone. The series finale of Power Rangers Super Megaforce includes the Legendary Battle, bringing back previous series Power Rangers to fight alongside the Power Rangers Super Megaforce, including the iconic Tommy, the original Mighty Morphin Green Ranger. Please vote and discuss the episode. What a ride this year has been! |
Woo-hoo! CAN'T WAIT FOR DINO CHARGE!

i still get the feeling that the legendary battle will suck though at least the trailer for dino charge will help me get through it, oh also was there any reason they really needed orion to leave earth?
|
Its up on Netflix now.
|

The extended is showing The Wrath and Legandary Battle together, so it's an extra 15 minutes. Most likely without the "to be continued" after The Wrath.
The cast did more ADR for both episodes. If there are still showing commercials, I think we're looking at around 5 maybe 6 more minutes of unseen footage for each episode. Unless they're just putting all tat new footage in Legendary Battle. Honestly, I'm not expecting much more than fight footage, but if we do get more, I'll be pleasantly surprised. |
After watching Legendary Battle (thanks, Netflix), I can say that it wasn't as bad as the rest of the season. I am still pissed at what they did to Titanium's helmet.

Fanservice in these first few minutes is not too badly handled. Tommy's scene irks me though.
Those past Rangers really show their age. Also, Countdown to Destruction did this "Darkest Hour and the Rangers are Nowhere to be Found" thing WAY better because I was at least more invested. |
Rhino and Wolf left out of the Jungle Fury group shot? I am not pleased. And I really wish we got more helmetless Legendary Rangers.
Where did Robo Knight come from? Also, SHUT UP MEGAFORCE! |
It wasn't terrible........ I'd say it was decent.
How did Damon and Wes know each other though? I don't remember Time Force/Lost Galaxy meeting... Still wonder why Tommy was shown as MMPR White and later Green.... They missed editing out MMPR White in the final battle.... Was it seriously that much trouble to get Titanium's friggin mask right? A whole season of build up for a 2 minute battle....meh.... If it makes you feel better GoseiWonder, RJ and Dom were in there in the big fight scene, I was kinda pissed they weren't in the team shot either! Of course Cam, Blake, and Hunter were MIA too.... |
Good riddance to this season.

Anyways, I thought this ending was....a bit different that I thought it would be. 3 reasons that confused and surprised me about this ending: 1. Apperently, Robo Knight is back. 2. If the Super Mega rangers got the Legendary keys, wouldn't all the rangers have died, like Robo Knight, kinda, did? 3. Troy showed good leadership in these last two episodes. His horrible acting paid off. I give this ending an "Average". |
This episode wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. It wasn't good, by any means, there were problems left and right. But in my mind I pictured worse. I want to end positive so I'll start with what bothered me.
Mavro went down far to easy. There was this build up about how he was the strongest ever, about how he conquered thousands of planets, and then.. Troy and Orion beat him soundly. The Reunion turning into JDF and these people who's names he forgot. I especially didn't like how he just drops out of the sky to help that kid, for one. How his face flashes to the White Ranger, for two, and then during the fight he shows up as Green Ranger again. Those powers were destroyed like twice now. Also didn't like how Robo Knight just appears with no explanation at all. Especially when one would've been so easy to make. All you needed was Gosei or Tensou on the communicator saying they rebuilt an old friend. Or Robo Knight saying it when he appeared again. And that's it you're finished. The last thing that bothered me was how the epic final fight with all the Rangers wasn't against Mavro himself but all the troops left behind. That's how Mavro should've died. The Legendary Rangers taking down the troops while the SMF Rangers battle one last time against Mavro. Now what I did like. I enjoyed the Legendary Rangers appearing. How they helped the city, their helmets flashes across, because that's what I'd expect them to do during a time like this. I honestly enjoyed Robo Knight being back (Despite the lack of explanation). And I did enjoy how it ended. I honestly did. It's just the things that were wrong outweighed the things I liked and killed it for me. But that Dino Charge trailer brought me right back up again. I cannot wait for that! |
Through out the whole time I'm like... "Where is my Titanium suit in action?"
Also how was the "new" extended footage? |

Is this a two parter? What I mean is, should I go and watch the previous episode before this one? Or should I be fine?

Good riddance to this show. Start to finish it was poorly edited, executed, aired, & promoted. And with this big wet blanket of a finale it's thankfully over. I sadly watched it over a month ago when European countries got the early airings of the finale.
But finally we have a show we can at least tentatively look forward to with Dino Charge. Obviously we can't say for certain what will happen with it, but it's safe to assume it will be watchable compared to Super Megaforce. A show which makes Operation Overdrive look like the gold standard by comparison. |
So...I'm basically the ONE PERSON on the ENTIRE forum that flew the flag for Super Megaforce while everyone else cursed its existence.
It's lonely on this side of the fanbase... |

If you truly do like this season, maybe you could offer some insight into why it is good. :) |
I loved the Season Finale. But only for the past Rangers. The rest was ok to good.

I need a moment.... |
it would have been a good season IF it wasnt to be a tribute. as it was, a VERY subpar season compared to other. However, I still mostly enjoyed it

There are so many things wrong with this episode that it would take me all day to discuss each point, so I'll make my gripes (and one compliment) quick and to the point.
-Tommy being identified as the MMPR White Ranger and using Saba to save that kid was misleading and rather pointless, considering that he turns into MMPR Green later on. -Ackdos/Marvo went out like a total punk +The original footage for Troy and Orion as In Space Red and Silver, while brief, was cool. -The Megaforce Rangers were worried about an army of X-Borgs, the cannon fodder that they could wipe out in their sleep. I don't care how vast the army was, these guys /suck/ and the appearance of the Legendary Rangers is pretty much pointless considering the stakes. -How many returning actors even got their faces shown for more than a nano second, let alone got a speaking line? -Why the hell is Robo Knight suddenly alive and well with no grand appearance or explanation?! -Apparently too much Pink Energy causes a shockwave that can be seen from orbit. |

- Power Rangers anniversary season - Legendary Ranger Morphs - Super Sentai-Exclusive Rangers never before seen in the US - The Legendary Zords/Megazords - Emperor Mavro/Ackdos Gill (He's the best main villain since Emperor Gruumm from SPD) - The Legendary War. While brief, it was awesome. Which brings me to the best thing about Super Megaforce: - The Legendary Rangers themselves. Even if it was small cameos, it was a major nostalgia trip seeing them all again, ESPECIALLY Jason David Frank! Curse him out all you want, JDF is, and always will be, my most favorite Power Ranger, period. And there you go. My highly- detailed explanation as to why Power Rangers Super Megaforce will go down as one of the best Power Rangers seasons ever. It even made my top-5 seasons list at number two, just behind Mighty Morphin Power Rangers itself. And THAT'S a Super Mega Win! |

SMF as a whole is just poorly executed when it should have been brilliant and one of the best. Sloppy editing which leads to unexplained powers, bad writing, bad acting, utterly wasted cameos and tributes, and just overall nothing more then a lazy job. |

I rest my case... |
I enjoyed Super Megaforce. I can see what problems it had, but I enjoyed it.

I still maintain that Megaforce and Super Megaforce had good voice acting. Vrak especially was the absolute highlight of this series.

I fucking loved this season finale it was badass and awesome! This is one of my favorite seasons, and I don't care what anyone else says, this finale was extremely awesome! I also was happy that Gia kissed Jake and finally showed feelings for him that was the best part for me. I love these guys, I'm going to miss them.
