Zenkai can mean all the worlds.Kikai can mean Machine or Machine world. What if the story is about several different worlds in a universe, with worlds such as the human world, machine world, etc. Then, 5 people from the machine world come to protect all the worlds from an invasion by a group of aliens from another universe?

Didn't Go-Onger already have a plot that centered on multiple worlds where both the Rangers' powers and their enemies came to Earth from the Machine World? Other worlds seem to be a pretty common element in Sentai, but this theory about Zenkaiger sounds reeeeally similar. Of course Sentai has never been shy about re-using ideas, but I doubt they'd copy the whole concept of a previous series, unless it was either a sequel or a radically different take on the concept.
Maybe Zenkaiger will be a dark and gritty series (at least by Sentai standards) set in a post-apocalyptic world... and then the Power Rangers adaptation will be light and goofy. |
Random guess Kikai means Machine World so maybe it's Transformers based.

Zenkaiger listing?
|
Memory, huh? Much like the title, that sounds like a word that can easily do double duty for both robotics and storytelling. Might have gotten this one right on the head!
|
Mechanical... yokai? Huh. *scratches head* Ehh, why not, we have gemstones that turn into vehicles.

OK, some new listings have surfaced!
Our main Mecha is "ZenkaiOh," the main weapon/changer is the "GearTlinger" and the collectible is apparently "Sentai Gear." |
So chances are Zenkaiger might be similar to Gokaiger, only utilizing past sentai weapons and gear instead of outright turning into them.
Seeing as they're the 45th team, it'd make sense. |
So we're totally getting a Premium Bandai Neo Mobirate, right? :lol
|
"ZenkaiOh"
Why am I not surprised? |
Sentai Gear? I wonder if they going to be like the Ranger Keys but gear version?
|
Sentai Gear definitely sounds interesting! Assuming they work like Ranger Keys, I'm imagining that the teeth of the gear correspond with a team member, so depending on how it'd turn when inserted into the transformation device, the Zenkaiger would transform into the corresponding teammember... unless they go full on Ranger Key and there's one for each character... Oh boy, I'll feel real bad for completionists if they do that route again!

Recent, reliable rumors have pointed to each ranger somehow being based on a different mech gattai from the past (specifically: GaoKing, Daizyujin, Daibouken, MagiKing, and something referred to only as "Mach," which is expected to be an original-mech-theme for the new red ranger), and that the rangers might resemble the Metal Heroes from B-Fighter and B-Fighter Kabuto, in that they will be more bulky and armored than usual. The weapon/changer being a gatling gun implies that multiple shots of the weapon can be fired in rapid succession. Maybe each "sentai gear" is comprised of a whole sentai team's mecha arsenal, and each ranger can load them into the Geartlinger to use the combined powers of a series' mecha. Or maybe they'll be able to mix and match different teams' mecha into each ranger, with modular armor pieces or something. Based on the steady drip of details trickling out -- machine world, gears, hints at rangers based on past mecha gattais -- I am nearly certain we're getting a season that thoroughly integrates previous sentai teams' mecha rather than a team that just uses past teams' weapons. This is all speculation, though. SOURCE: RangerBoard’s Zenkaiger rumor thread. |

I love the idea of the various mecha being based on past mecha. Perhaps some inspiration from stuff like shattered grid. I mean we know it wouldnt be the first time that Sentai has taken a page from PR's playbook. Just look at Go-busters, its pretty obvious they took a page from RPM when doing the Go-busters plot line. So while i don't expect some sort of team made up of past rangers the ideas of a team that might integrate design elements from a variety of past ranger teams however is likely.
the Shattered grid arc found a way - if even for just for what the end of 1 volume- to mesh SEVERAL very different looking suits into one. So the idea of doing that but with Mecha is fun. I kinda wish they had found a snazzier name than "Sentai Gear" for the obvious gear shaped trinkets but... personally I cant think of anything and i'm sure its a case of in general the Japanese wouldn't equate 'Gear' with BOTH mechanical gears and arsenal gear. I do kinda wish they had broken away from the "_ OH" set up. Since normally we get Oh, King, or Jin suffixes. would be nice to have more stuff like Daiboken and GoseiGreat. |

Daizyujin - most well known dinosaur season/helped toei take over the world
Gaoking wasn't Gaoranger the 25th season Daibouken 30th anniversary Magiking- i cant think of any reason other than its the most well known Magical beast focused one. Thats my take on the reason for those 4 I mean they likely tried to pair it down into 5 rangers... how do we categorize the past seasons. Animals, Vehicles, Dinosaurs, Magic. Think that sums up like any all seasons. Ok Dinosaurs we have 4 choices how do we choose which one? Zyuranger just makes sense. How do we choose the animal one- plenty of animal focused ones but 25th anniversary seaosn stands out the most. Same for vehicles on the 30th anniversary. I feel magic beasts is the least represented of the lot making Magiranger a bit easier to choose since I cant think of how many seasons focus on that Magi and Dairanger of the top of my head. Quote:

Pumped for another full blown anniversary series.

Daizyujin is probably for the link to Power Rangers. MagiKing is just a fan-favorite I think. |
The "villain being a computer program" link between Power Rangers and Go-Busters seems kinda doubtful, since an evil computer program only appeared in one previous season of Power Rangers and isn't exactly an uncommon villain type in other scifi.
However, the fact that the Go-Busters transformation sequence literally says "it's morphin' time!" is a very obvious Power Rangers shoutout, and so is the fact that the giant robot enemies are called Megazords. |
I think the whole "Each mech chosen represents the main components of the most common themes" idea also works with some of the other ideas.
Daizyujin is the first dinosaur-based mech, as well as representing Power Rangers. GaoKing is the 25th anniversary sentai's mech and also best represents using animals as mech components. DaiBouken was from the 30th anniversary and best represents using vehicles. MajiKing is a fan favorite and is also the first and only mech to use magical components. Combining them all possible reasons just makes them all make more sense as a whole. |
All of those mechs are my childhood, minus daizyujin of course, but if thats what this show is going for, and a heavy dash of ranger key esque legacy based collectibles, hoo boy my wallet will be crying. Gokaiger did a number on me and a series that follows a similar modus would definitely get my money. I liked kirameigers designs, but the whole adult acting like a child route that sentai has taken in recent years is really off putting, to me personally. If sentai got back even a smidge of that swash buckling brovado that they had pre- kyoryuger, i would be sooo in.

I would probably argue that the stuff from Dairanger would count as magical creatures as well- but between it and Magiranger well I'm pretty sure Magiranger- and thus Magiking is a better category mascot.

The only correlation I see is that Daizyujin and Daibouken start with "Dai" which means "Big/Great", and Gaoking and Magiking both end with the word King. Other than that I guess we will have to wait and see what their justification is. One thing for sure, the gears are the rangers keys of the show and instead of cosplaying as senpai rangers they will harness the power of the 45 mechanical wonders(let us not forget LuPat which gave us two of 'em) that roughly costs about 70 bucks USD at your local Japanese Toys”R”Us.

If these rumours are true, I figure the main reasons will have been marketing/iconic-ness. I figure it's more likely that they thought "what are four well-known robos we can use, that are all of vaguely different styles" rather than "how can we categorise every season's robot theme", if that makes any sense.
That said though, if this is true what are people thinking Zenkai-Oh might end up like? I can imagine getting "new" versions of each of those series' zords, the same way Machalcon in Gokaiger was like a "new" Go-Onger zord. It would be kind of interesting to have five zords of different design philosophies form one coherent robo, especially given how aesthetically different those four are! |
I think people forget that Daizyujin means more than just 'power rangers' -- Zyuranger was an incredibly popular season in its own right, and between being the first to really be a fantasy story instead of sci-fi and the first to really have a sixth ranger beyond one-offs, it was a big landmark series for Sentai; all of which matters a lot more than what overseas did with it.

The question is will kiramager end early with the show seems like speeding up like they're in the 40s plus we did minus 4-5 episodes due to covid breaks and other events. Unless they're delays in shooting the next ones, then we get extended kiramager or mini specials like in old days or during lupin ryusoul transfer .
|
Remember, Sentai debuts in March now due to Sentai Strongest. So there's three months of episodes left; meaning it'll likely end around 45.

Newest speculation/rumor from Matt Hunt/Dukemon on Twitter:
Some of the Zenkaiger mechs may have a KR W-like half & half combo gimmick. Seems believable, but as he likes to say: take this with a grain of salt. |
