Tamashii Nations Power Rangers

That's cool. I dig it. Looks a little odd, but eh, I'm still down.
Wonder if we'll get a Geki and Burai version :lol |
i like the civvie heads, gives more options for display and dynamic action poses
|
Now THAT is cool.
|
I dig the headsculpts, but I was never a huge fan of the S.H. Figuarts ranger bodies. In an attempt to replicate the in suit appearance from the show, I always thought they made the bodies a little too thin, almost unhealthily so.
Does anybody recall the Power Rangers Jungle Fury basic figures? I think that that was the best attempt in any Power Ranger toy ever that both captured the on-screen in-suit look while adding some extra muscle definition to make the figures more "heroic." |

Jason looks alright, but Tommy looks... pretty off.

I sure BOJ will give us the zyuranger head when they rerelease them in Japan cause whatever they release in america it has to have a japan release as well. Also this is just me but I have a very weird feeling that Bandai is planning to make renewals of zyuranger figuarts for the future. The reason why is remember when Bandai gave us a rerelease of Kamen Rider Kabuto and then a year later we got a renewal. It could happen zyuranger is popular enough and Bandai loves to print money and were seeing that with SOC. |
That's an interesting surprise. I wonder how readily available they'll be. I already got them SHFs of them all but I might consider double dipping. It would also be nice if they did this for rest of the team too.
|
I was never able to get any figuarts Ranger, so they’re definitely on my list.
Am I crazy to think Legacy Dragonzord actually looks better than the Soul of Chogokin Dragon Caesar? It’s the fact that Dragonzord’s mouth can close without showing teeth I think. It makes it look more screen accurate. |
Great for newcomers. Sucks for those of us who already own the originals and just want the new heads.

Though well, these are still just prototypes. We'll see if and when they come out. |
Only Red and Green? Come on. Shoulda just released a 6-pack of heads. Or Bandora. Or Griffizor. Or Baseball Mask. Or completed any team they started...You get the idea.
|
ok one those head sculpts are awful looking, two just give us pink we all seem to need that one -i have all the other just rerelease the pink s.h. figuarts pink ranger for the sake of stopping all the scalping
|
Aren't these just the old molds with new heads? If so then that's super lame.
They remade entire figures which were far younger than those, but now it's okay to throw this outdated stuff on the market? Shows how much they care about this. But it is to be expected, they probably make the most profit off of Bluefin when it comes to Power Rangers. There are bound to be some fans in Japan who want these, but these figures will probably only see a limited, Web-Exclusive run. |

They have to negotiate likeness rights, so that's a chunk of change. Then they have to actually mold the heads and paint them, so there's some change. And then release it towards a group of fans who look for reasons not to buy things. I'd use the old bodies too! |
I surely hope these will see a JP retail release as well. Definitely gonna snag both then.
|
Maybe this will be a small spark that ignites the Sentai Figuarts line? I know they're a tough sell hence why they're dead, but still.
|
It woulda been awesome if they used soft goods or gold fabric to replicate the “American shield” instead of the Japanese one, for Tommy.

Also on display is the second Soul of Chogokin Jaeger- Crimson Typhoon!
|
I'm kinda hoping they'll do rereleases of all the Rangers since I only got Pink and Yellow from the original release.
|
Totally not for everyone and of course I wish Sentai Figuarts would properly revive (I loved Kyuranger and totally would buy some of those) and totally get how tiresome MMPR merch is getting, but... This is still cool to me.
As someone who's really been liking the idea behind the untransformed human figures, but there's yet to be one to really interest me, this is filling that perfectly. I wouldn't really want to buy just a Jason either, but a Jason head on the Red Ranger? Yes please. Plus that works great for Power Rangers when that's a thing that actually happened. Also only ever got Green and some are going for astronomical prices, so rereleases will just be good for anyone who came late to the party. I'm sure they'll get to the whole team. Given recent trends in rereleases though, I wonder what accessories they'll cut to make way for these heads... |
If this was a sign of perhaps the return of even just Power Rangers S.H. Figuarts somehow, I'd be excited.
Like if they weren't going to make any more Super Sentai in Japan, but Power Rangers teams would be coming out for the West. I mean isn't the only reason the Dragon Ball Figuarts are still going is because a lot of Westerners buy them? Also, on the unmasked heads... If they had done them before I already owned the original SHF Power Rangers releases as well as the Zyuranger ones. (Yes, I bought both the Japanese and American releases) It's like BoA re-releasing the Legacy MMPR with their weapons AFTER people bought the figures without them basically. Now if they offered the heads separate as well as with the figures as options... Just give a box with all six Ranger heads...maybe have the second season replacements as a SDCC thing or something. |

Honestly, if the price is good, I may get a couple Jason's just to get all the blade blasters for the other four rangers who only have it in stick mode.
|
I'm curious if we'll just be getting the original suits, or if they'll add in White Ranger as well, even if it's just an exclusive.

Now if they had done maybe Zeo, In Space, or Time Force for the U.S. Figuarts line, maybe they'd have sold better. Not saying I know or anything, but I do know what was popular in Japan (and released for Figuarts), was never as popular in the U.S. Nobody remembers fondly Operation Overdrive or Samurai, but those were the series that got Figuarts in Japan due to timing as well as the Akibarnger show utilizing those specific teams. Heck, if not for Akibaranger, we probably wouldn't have seen Super Sentai Figuarts to begin with I think. |
The civilian heads look good on their own, but look weird on the figure since Jason David Frank and Austin St. John, even back then, were a lot beefier than their Sentai counterparts.

I saw on the Bluefin Instagram that they are releasing Jason and Tommy with alternate heads (printed faces.) They didn't mention the others, but I really hope the release the whole team. This time around they could re do the white ranger on a taller body. I have a bad feeling that these will be $75+.
|
So unfortunately, once again, we get shafted on the Legacy Shogun Megazord.
|
So I'm guessing that we are not going to get the Imaginext Zord Armor for the Pink Ranger? That is such a shame since we got all five of the others. :(
Also, who was asking for a black/red Megazord? Don't they know that you are supposed to paint it black/gold for special editions? |

It's not insane to think it might happen either. Hasbro is perfectly willing to pad lines out with non-show stuff, and as Generations shows over in Transformers they are willing to revisit older stuff for fans. We could get a line called something like Power Rangers Legends for the older fans with Marvel Legends style figures for Rangers and better Zords, and then simplified gimmicky stuff for kids. |
