S.H. Figuarts Kamen Rider Amazons Alpha & Omega The Last Judgment Set Gallery

"AMAZON!"
Continually hunted by 4C, Haruka Mizusawa stumbles onto the darkest secret yet in the history of the Amazon Cells. In a quiet mountain village children are cared for until they can find new homes. At least, that's the cover story. In reality this is a farm for growing meat. Young Amazons are grown and sold to wealthy humans as livestock, eaten as a delicacy. Darker still, these children are bred from the blood of Jin Takayama, miraculously still alive. This horrific new iteration of the Sigma Project brings Amazon Alpha & Amazon Omega together for their final climactic battle. The Final Judgement is here. Packaging Now this is an unusual one for sure, among all Figuarts. As a two-pack this set was bound to be a bit different but everything about it is unusual. Rather than being made of the standard thin single layer cardboard, this box is actually a pretty thick corrugated double layer box. This unique box opens up and out with a tabbing flap that reveals a cardboard insert covering the figures. And beneath that we have both riders in a large clam shell case with all of their accessories. It's super unorthodox in both presentation and material construction. But it makes this feel like the premium exclusive that is as well. Main Figures Honestly, there isn't a lot to say here. This is now the third out for both of these molds. Amazon Alpha and Amazon Omega have each gotten 3 releases over the course of the Amazons franchise. And as these Last Judgement releases suggest with their name, this is likely their final outing so it's back to basics. Back to the original version of each mold. Functionally they're identical the first Alpha & Omega we got from the line. These two are just made to look as though they have extensive battle damage, which is mostly accomplished with paint apps, though there are a handful of newly sculpted components as well. But if you've handled any of the variations of this mold over the last few years then you know what to expect of these two. So feel free to skip down to the gallery below. So rather than just copy and paste my previous reviews into this one, let's copy and paste some links instead! Here's a handy compilation of every single Amazons related gallery I've published for TokuNation. The Alpha & Omega reviews will more than adequately capture what to expect out of these Last Judgement versions of their molds as well. Kamen Rider Amazons Galleries: S.H. Figuarts Shinkocchou Seihou Kamen Rider Amazon The only thing I'll take a bit of time to really talk about is the lavish new paint applications and slight remolds. Both of these figures are meant to represent Alpha & Omega, right at the end. In the heat of their final battle. Carrying over damage sustained to their human forms, each of them has fresh deep wounds, and blood pouring out. They both feature blood splatter across their limbs, but particularly across their torso and and heads. In particular their torsos are quite gruesome as Alpha features still bleeding bullet holes and Omega features deep scars. These parts are newly molded and are the only physical difference from the original releases of these molds. While that isn't exactly a ton of new stuff to report on, it's worth mentioning just how much care was put into making sure each of these Riders fully represented their final appearances. Accessories Between the two figures we get a huge pile of accessories even if there isn't really a big variety of difference between the two: 8 - Pairs of hands. That's 4 sets for each rider. The grips of each hand are identical, and as with all prior releases of these molds only the surface details on the backs of each hand is unique to each rider. But that's quite a number of options to play with for each of them. We even have hands to use with the old Jungraider, or even the Battle Grip Blade & Spear that originally came with Omega. 2 - Slash effects. This is actually the first time Alpha has included this effect as it's normally only been included with Omega previously. The mold is the same, it's just a repack, but it works surprisingly well with Alpha. Omega of course needs alternate parts to use his effect piece. 2 - foreram blades. These cosmetic bits need to be swapped out for Omega's standard gauntlet blades to be able to use the included slash effect parts. This is exactly the same as the first Omega Figuart. That really is quite a lot of stuff for a web exclusive two-pack. I really wish the set had included 1 or both of the Battle Grip weapons or even a couple of the flame effects that the Amazon.JP exclusives came with. Of course I own every release from Amazons so I had them on hand as is. But for people who maybe haven't been on top of buying all these sporadic releases over the last several years, it would have been nice. Final Thoughts It's been a long journey to get here. When this series premiered in 2016 I instantly fell in love. 4 years later and I'm eternally grateful that Bandai has been so dedicated to making so many Figures from the Kamen Rider Amazons series and film. It's insane to me that we've gotten every rider the series and film have ever featured, 2 of them in all of their various forms, and we even got the two most well known Amazons in figure form with Mole & Crow. I'd still love to see a few more things come to pass. Like Neo's Jungraider and his Amazon Origin form, and Mole's upgraded form as well. And I would love love love to get Omega's wild/origin form as well. As is however, this is is one of the most complete series of rider figuarts we've ever gotten from Bandai. It's one of the centerpieces of my collection. No one from Bandai will probably ever read this, but thank you so much for making this show and giving me so many ways to appreciate it again and again with these figures. Last Judgement Kamen Riders Amazon Alpha & Omega, should they be the end of the line, were totally the right choice to end the Amazons line on. |

These bloodied up versions feel like the centerpieces of the Amazons line and would make for a killer photoshoot |

That series looks sick! I want to watch the series, but not the Amazon Riders one on Prime Video.
|
I loved Amazons! The designs were nice and an excellent update to the Showa version.

Always loved these design, the figuarts do them justice.
|
Lovely figures and great pics! Can't believe I haven't watched Amazons yet even though I have Prime, I really need to.
|
Amazon alpha just looks so sexy. I love the group shots of all the riders at the end of the gallery.

Being covered in blood is the most perfectly Amazons thing. It's just so right.
I never saw the movie! I should see it. |
Is there a more Amazons thing than rleasing the Riders just smeared in blood-paint? Maybe if they included a "filter-desaturated" version somewhere.
Amazons was never my cup of tea, but when we don't even get final forms lately, it's once again nice to see a series so complete for someone who's a fan. Especially when TN seem to have put so much effort into making them look absolutely disheveled for this final release. |
I enjoyed Amazons and felt the movie tied up things nicely, and this two pack looks good.
|
I always love the blood details on these figures.

Kamen rider amazons/Amazon riders was a radical departure from the cookie cutter norm for rider. It was edgy, dark, and graphic, but still delivered that iconic rider storyline. It was an amazing series and one of my personal favorites. Prior to this, i had no love for showa, but amazons sic-esque reimagining had me hooked. The amazons design is a really great update, and just pleasing to look at. The figures really sell it. The multiple gradients of color and the wounds really sell the battle hardened look the series went for. Hope i can snag a copy someday, if it isn't too pricey.

I had completely forgotten that this set was even going to be a thing. For what could've been just simple repaints, the attention to detail by adding the bullet holes (man that's gruesome!) and scratch marks really does set this set apart. Bandai did right by Amazons for sure and this looks like an awesome capstone if you've been collecting the whole line.
