Amazon Problems
So I wasn't sure if there was really a thread where I could ask about this, and decided to just make one.
I recently picked up the SS Figuarts Kamen Rider Amazon for a little bit below general price on- where else- Amazon. The figure came sealed in-box, and seemed completely fine. Don't get me wrong, the figure is great... aside from one rather significant issue. The joint on his shoulder, which should be pegged in place to optimize movement, is completely unpegged. Furthermore, the peg is outside the torso piece. Not sure if anyone else has had this problem, but I would love any ideas on how to fix this if possible. |
I'm assuming it doesn't stay in place when you try to peg it back in?
If so, maybe try thickening the peg slightly with floor polish? |

Please provide a picture if you can. It'd help alot.

Sorry it took so long, had some problems getting a picture. It's really blurry, because I had to get close enough to make sure you could kinda see what I'm talking about

Before I read the thread I thought it was a problem with Amazon the company instead of the Rider.

Ahhh okay, that helps some. Same deal that I said, kinda. Though I should ask, are the left peck and shoulder pieces just straight up missing, or were they just detached out of the box? If the later, well, they're ball joints so just try popping them on with a little bit of force.

Your suggestion is to what, exactly? I'm not sure if thickening the peg would help, since the issue is I can't get it to where it's supposed to be. Sorry if I misunderstood. |
You're fine. I think there's a bit of a misunderstanding on my part as well, which is totally my bad, apologies.
So, assuming I now understand what you're saying, have you tried popping the arm off, moving the joint to where it's supposed to be, and then popping it back in? Sorry if I'm still not getting it. |

I'll try to explain it a bit better. The shoulder cuff with dictates some of the arm's movements is held in place by a small peg, it looks like. However, on my figure, that peg is completely loose, which means the shoulder cuff can go just about anywhere except where it's supposed to sit. After looking at the other shoulder, I believe this peg clicks in place at the bottom of the torso hole, but I haven't figured out a way to get the peg back in where it's supposed to be. |
I looked up a couple videos of the figure for reference since I don't own the figure myself, and from what I can tell it looks like you got hit with a rare case of bad QC.
Understandable you'd be scared of breaking him considering the pricepoint. But yeah, warming the arm up, removing it, adjusting the cap, and then popping the arm back in is about the only thing I can think of. Up to you if you wanna risk it though. Sorry I wasn't too much help. This is a rather unique issue. |

Dreamsword is right, this is really your only option besides sending the figure back.

Might try warming him up again and pulling the entirely assembly out. |
Be very careful if you decide to do that. Pliers might help if you can't get your fingers in there. Hope it ends up working out.

I owe you so much thanks, because it worked perfectly. Did take a few attempts to warm it up, but once it was, everything clicked right into place.
|
Glad it all worked out! Enjoy your new Amazon! Based on the vids I watched he seems like a great figure.

This was a satisfying conclusion to this story.

I'v re ordered the Ninja Ranger DVD on Ebay as Amazon lost this order for me. Left London UK but wasn't able to track it. since.
