Kamen Rider Zi-O Episode 6 "555-913 2003!" Discussion
After defeating the powerful Another Fourze, Sougo is stunned when ANOTHER AnotherRider emerges from the battle! What is the secret behind this strange new creature?
Watch SuperHeroTime Via Livestream!! Check out episodes as they air on Saturday by heading over to Taima TV. They play other miscellaneous programs up until the live broadcast starts. Live Streams of the Superhero Time block now start at 8PM EST on Saturdays! |
So would this be they have to respond double time, or are they in overtime? xD
Can't wait to watch the episode! |
I like the fact that this episode's name is a phone number. I hope this fix that the filling that something is off/missing from the show. Thankfully this feeling seems to be getting smaller with the last two episode. I think Woz is what is helping me since I love him.

I liked this episode. It was enjoyable. :D
Nice fights and the show seems to be getting better. |
Nice mari cameo. Beast is getting a ride watch too. Too bad it's one episode, which doesn't explain the messy faiz timeline across all movies specials + no real current 555 action.

An alright episode. It definitely felt rushed, with the continuity being pretty inconsistent, unlike last week's fairly well edited episode.
I really feel like Faiz needed a two-parter. Last week's Fourze tribute was fantastic because it captured the feel of the show even without the lead actors present. With this episode they had both Takumi and Kusaka and they got sizable roles, so it sucks that it was only for one episode. I did like the little character callbacks, like Kusaka being a total creep and Takumi being a nekojita and talking about his dream while presenting a business card for Keitaro's laundromat. But like, so much missed opportunity. I wish we could have seen the Kaixa suit, and more of Faiz. The short flashback to episode 02 of Faiz with Mari was welcome but it was so obvious that it was old footage. And using Over, Quartzer as the insert instead of Justifaiz is so disappointing. I did like how the twist was that the two kids who were essentially repeating the last 15 years were Ryuseiji like Kusaka, which was a red herring from Woz's cryptic advice from the previous episode. And it's a nice reference to Faiz as well, subtly respecting its history. But the plot has so many issues. I think it stems from the whole 15 years repeating. What was Takumi doing during this time? If she was the one who asked Kusaka to help her, why did she seem so defensive both times? Not to mention the randomness of Another Faiz giving Sakuma the ability to steal life energy of extremely specific girls. The whole thing is convoluted and falls apart as you think about it. But at the end of the day, you do get a sappy love story with bad communication between characters who like to sacrifice their lives to protect others, so I guess it really was a Faiz tribute through and through. Faiz Armour was pretty cool, I really liked the use of the Faiz Phone X and the return of some of the original gadgets. If there is one thing I liked about this episode, it was the fight scenes. The acting is still bad though. Geiz is probably the best actor in the main cast, but Sougo is just.... ugh. Lastly, the .5 episode was excellent, as usual. They mention how they failed to get Fukushi and Yoshizawa back because of their schedules and you get some fun references to Faiz and it's characters and how they relate to Fourze (though they could all just be false at the end of the day). Plus they end it with a line blaming Shirakura for the everything, lol. And my favourite line - "Why do you make it sound like I have too much free time" -Kento Handa Next up, Wizard! And we get a little Haruto nod, though we know he won't be returning. But at least Beast is! |

Another Faiz existing erases those. But for now at least, the series only deals directly with nods to the tv shows themselves. Not the movies yet. Waiting on the subs to watch it fully still. But going off of the previous .5 episodes, do keep in mind this is re-writing time so that the other shows didn't happen, and it's also ignoring side content/sequel content too. So it's more fourth wall breaking tv shows as one united timeline but all in the same world. So there will be some slight continuity variations since they do have to keep it streamlined for average audiences and not die-hards that know every detail of every show. This is more like quilt work than it is like a solid thread. |
This was the first zi-o episode that I liked. I still think that woz is oma-zio. He's helping zi-o collect ride watches so that he can steal all of them for himself. I can't see Sougo turning into oma-zio unless something truly tragic happens to him and he becomes bitter and angry.

Liked the episode, and the twist, as well as the callback to Faiz episode 1's car accident too.
Solid good episode overall. Also liked how the Time Jackers are getting more fleshed out, and found it interesting that in a way the Another Faiz carried Takumi's orphenoch aspects too on draining life. Though was inverted as Time Jackers do to make it grant that life energy to another. And how that carried over in the zodiac aspect to Fourze which makes sense. From the next time clip, seems they are about to speed up show pace and development too, and we're getting more on why Sougo became Oma Zi-O and how Geiz and Tsukuyomi are key pieces of that, and also maybe how that may change. Show seems to be picking up on development and it was nice to see Geiz get some character focus. Speaking of, it kind of makes sense why he has the Ghost ride watch too. In connotation of series abilities, them dealing with a rider that can't be seen would be pretty impossible. So that skip ahead rather made sense, and would make for an interesting flashback or side story later too. Also with how far back Faiz's erasure was, it explains why his movie events aren't in play, since as of right now they've been erased from the timeline as if his show never existed. Though is curious how he still has the belt, but seemingly no power in it, and no memory of how it's supposed to work. Really liked how they managed to tie everything together. Made many things more obvious, but also still assumed the audience was smart and didn't bother with heavy exposition on other things. And I take that back about quilt work over a solid thread. Because of how timelines are erased into the riders never existing, it makes the quilt work become one solid straight line thread. So everything can exist in one world because none of their material existed. Which is why various monsters that'd cause a chaotic world don't exist since the rider ceased to exist. At least from what we saw last week with the monster disappearing when Fourze did, and this week with how it's implied the Oprhenoch disappeared when Faiz did. Which we can assume Mari survived since Kusaka and Takumi still became friends through their connection through her. Because of her history at the Ryuusei school too. Though now I want to see that story in how Takumi and Mari became friends, since this changes the entire aspect of her accidentally stealing his bag. Or at least how the aftermath of that played out instead of an Orphenoch fight. Unless the erasure only takes effect at the point of another rider creation so that part is still intact only without orphenochs and a working belt. |
