"Yosha Lucky"
Fuck you. |
Pretty decent Episode. Most notable thing is we have the first Gangler that can seemingly grow without the assistance of Gauche....and his supposed deal with Zamigo, who we haven't seen in quite a long time.
To be honest, I'm not a big fan of when Super Sentai makes these arbitrary tie-ins with characters to get them to have connecting moments. Don't get me wrong, it's not like Tsukasa's backstory was BAD or anything, but it kinda comes off abrupt & lazy to make her another person whose parents died, and is making out her grandpa's wanting her wellbeing to be the same as Kairi's brother wanting his wellbeing. Just comes off as MEH to me. I do wish though that they did something with Kairi almost blowing his cover at the beginning. I almost thought he literally forgot his VS Changer in the club, and that the Police would possibly find it. |

You know, every single time this show has done a two-part episode, the first part is one of my favorite episodes just by itself.
https://i.imgur.com/TkpFWJ4.jpg That's totally crazy to me because I find the vast majority of multi-parters in any show always feel kind of padded somewhere, and at worst, entire parts are just *meh*, but with this show there's always so much going on. It feels totally justified. Instead of just stretching out one episode into two, they still find the time to more or less do a normal standalone plot with a proper beginning, middle, end, and solid character development. And in this particular instance, we also get to see Kairi hanging out at a sleazy club for a bit. That part was really fun. I don't know, I'm probably gushing too much to be very insightful but I seriously adore LuPat. Week after week, it's the most legitimately fresh and interesting Sentai has been in ages and at this rate it'll easily be in my top 3 when it's over. I think the whole reason I haven't been popping in the episode threads as much lately is honestly because I love it so much it's starting to defy words. :lol |
It's kinda hard for me to say what I like about the show week to week without eventually repeating the same words. It's just been supremely solid and next week's episode is also looking pretty hype.

To be entirely honest, I was actually losing interest when Noel was introduced.
The 6th ranger, typically the character added to change the status quo and keep things fresh is probably the least interesting part of the series. I genuinely find the interactions between the Lupinrangers and the Patrangers far more interesting when he isn't prancing around :lol |

So next episode lupat needs to work together. It's kinda awkward to see them suddenly work together without proper bonding and patrangers only bond with the civilian version of lupinrangers not the thief version. Though they kinda work together in this episode to fight Giwi since they didn't attack each other. Usually they will fight each other while they fight the gangler.

One thing that really bugged me about this episode, though: so Tsukasa is smart enough to research Kairi and find out about his brother, but not to realize that said brother disappeared several months ago? She seems to assume that he's still around. Did nobody report him as missing? Even assuming Kairi didn't because he's busy Lupinrangering, surely his friends or coworkers must have notified the police at some point. |

While I've warmed up to Noel as a character, he hasn't added much to interest me.
He doesn't bug me, but that doesn't mean I really enjoy him, you know? :lol |

I'm fashionably late to watching this episode.
It completely gave me a bad case of PTSKD. Post Traumatic Stress KyuRanger Disorder. With all that jumping and shouting of Lucky Day!!! I kept thinking Lucky would pop out of the safe and start screaming Yosha Lucky!!! However, I am really glad they made it a Tsukasa and Kairi episode. Those two really work well together to deliver the scene, and give some back story to her. I'm not tired of Noel. He can flip his way in and out of any scene as far as I care. It's a gimmick, but one that takes up less chew space than Gokai Silver ever did. |
Has the Kairi/Tsubasa shipping begun? Lol.
