After watching episode 5, I've still got little to add to what I've said already. But then, a picture's worth a thousand words, right?

Episode 6 surprised me with how heavy it actually got, but since it's the penultimate episode, I guess I should've been expecting that. I'm probably just bad at taking hints, because it also surprised me how emotionally invested I was even though I've been doing nothing but showering this show with praise for 6 weeks.
On a totally unrelated note, this show is still amazing. |
Get too real and depressingly relatable to a lot of geeks in reality.

Or maybe they just ran dry on the subject... Anyway who played the brother ? Guy seems familiar... |
Yeah, episode 6... wow.
I felt like I held my breath for the full 5 minutes that scene was on. The whole series and especially this episode built up to that scene perfectly. I've been encouraging toku fans to watch this due to the lighthearted fun nature of it, now I'll be doing so to non-toku fans because it's just an excellent show. Although painful to watch at times, that's only for all the right reasons. Quote:

Subs for finale is out. Didnt feel like typical big happy ending. It's open ended and grounded in to reality. Her friends move on with their lives and she rekindle with her mom despite still haven't settle or accept their differences. The mom had a tough life and didnt want her kid to be bullied or be the odd one out. The heroine just want to be herself. She finally gain some allies and friends, but it ended too real excluding the wasted cameo. I was expecting v3 to play himself and give a stan lee speech about toku. Anyway, the first 5 was great and the last 2 was the dramatic and reality hits.
|
Where did you get to watch it with subs for ep 6 & 7? I've been looking at all the usual places but all I get is a raw ep 6.
|
same here I still haven't found it. Though after reading that post it sounds like a depressing episode. (kinda spoilery, actually)
|
Tvn subbed it. There's still comedic moments, but there's not really resolutions like totally be proud or Totally acceptance, but with real real friends made as Well as other progress outside of work, it's good for reality. Overall, still toku loving.

Ep. 7 left me with a weird Deja vu. When I was a student, I came across a Godzilla VS Biolante VHS on a flea market, remembered how I liked to watch sentai, kaiju and metal heroes as a kid and then bought it impulsively. Stupid show, now I have water in my eyes.
|
It felt like a heartwarming resolution still grounded in reality; it won't always be accepted but she still loves it, and she has friends that support her. I kind of prefer this to a 100% happy resolution; sometimes, reality is like a kaijin, but you don't give up.

I've been going to Big Nova but it's like they stopped at 5. I've been waiting and waiting. Now I see 6 and 7 have aired so I guess I know what I'm doing tonight. TY |
Episode 7 was definitely a great finale. Like others have already said, it avoids ending in a way so saccharine it stretches the grounded atmosphere (which for a show selling itself on being relatable would've pretty much been a middle finger to the audience), while still managing to be extremely optimistic. I'm often quite nitpicky about endings but I can't think of anything I'd change here. It's pretty much perfect.
I'm seriously glad I watched this show. It's been an absolute joy for these past two months and sticking the landing like this ensures I won't be forgetting about it anytime soon. I'm probably going to be saying this anytime I get a chance from now on, but DON'T SLEEP ON THIS SHOW if you're reading this and still haven't watched it. Trust me, you won't regret it. |
ep 7 was good. It had resolution.
ep 6 I thought was more powerful than I was expecting. The whole scene in the restaurant took such a turn I wasn't expecting.... uh... any of that. (I lol'd at the scene of the red crabs as red rangers) |

I'd like to see a Season 2. I'm not sure where the story would go but I know I'm not ready to say goodbye to these characters after only 7 episodes.
That was almost a tease. |
after watching the series i been reading from start the manga the show is based off. and there is a lot of content for them do a second season.
|
It would be fun if they did a second season and Kano is following the show that replaces Jyushowan. Also the show has Super Sentai, Metal Heroes and even PreCure representation but no Kamen Rider.
Anyway, the series had been great and I hope it got more people interested in tokusatsu. |

I don't know if the ratings matters since they're not selling toys of jushowang. It's on a no ads tv channel i think. Depend if cast returns.
|
I miss this show.
7 episodes just wasn't enough time. I was just starting to really like the characters. I haz sad now. |
