CSM Genesis Driver
|
I was hoping a CSM Sid lockseed would be part of the CSM Genesis Driver set. Oh well, though it looked really cool, it was pretty disappointing in the show when we finally saw what it does. Still, the LED effect on the driver is awesome, definitely leveraging the advanced LED arrays from the Demons Driver and Vision Driver.

Hard pass, unless it's sized like the props used by Seiji Takaiwa, Eitoku, Jun Watanabe, etc. Perhaps prop-sized Drivers are going to be released in the CSG line?

IIRC the announcement for the CSG line said it wouldn't do anything that interacts with the gimmick items.
Also, correct me if I'm wrong, but aren't the CSMs based off the Actor's Props by default? I distinctly remember the CSM Kaixa promo showing off the Blaygun, and it was massive compared to the DX. |

Also technically speaking the CSM releases are prop size accurate. from W onwards since the prop that the actors use before they Transform is just straight up the DX toy just painted better (you can literally see the screw holes if you pay close enough attention). Although I understand that that’s not what Zolda’s asking for though. |

Since Den-O, there are 2 types of Driver/trinket props: - The ones used by the civilian actors, and - the one used by the suit actors. As far as I know, CSM's for series that aired from 2000-2006 have sizes like the props used by the suit actors, while CSM's for series that aired from 2007 onward have sizes like the props used by the civilian actors, so they're basically just glorified DX. It's in line with what happened during the series' production. Series from Den-O onward had the civilian actors use DX-sized props, while series before Den-O had the civilian actors use the same props as the ones used by the suit actors. There was also the CS line, a precursor to the CSM line. The CS line were closer in size to the suit actor props. Oh, and there was also official Replica line manufactured by Rainbow Zoukei for Toei Hero Net. This line was a 1/1 recreation made by the same company that fabricated all KR suits until this day. Here's a comparison video of the DX, CS, and CSM line of Den O Belt: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VlKprhPKE6c Here's a comparison video of the DX, CS, CSM, and Replica line of Kuuga's Arcle Belt: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k4eGaiOv_J0 Dang. That Replica looks amazingly glorious. The CSM is the closest one in accuracy. Quote:

Bandai has created too much sub-line/modification line that it's too hard for me to keep up. If they intend to create a fancier DX, then they should just stick to the Memorial DX line (for the most recently aired series) or the Premium DX line (for older series that never had Memorial DX releases). The CSM line should only be reserved for role playing toys that are accurate to the props used by the suit actors. I mean, isn't the CSM's tagline "role playing toys for adults"? Why would I want a DX-sized toys but only with better materials and fancier lights and sounds? Adults want adult-sized toys, not kid-sized DX toys. |
