I think having Power Rangers be PG-13 was a smart idea. The movie would have done worst if it was PG. PG works for animated movie, not so much on big budget live action movies.

Was it expected to be anything less? PG13 is pretty much the standard for anything these days.

That's good news since it means it won't be too dark and gritty but it also means it won't be your average Saturday morning Power Rangers for kids.
