Uchu Sentai KyuRanger Episode 29- "Orion, The Strongest Warrior!" Discussion
A legendary hero named Orion has reappeared! But he has no memories, believing Jark Matter to be long-defeated. What is the true story of the past battles???
As always you can view this episode via live stream on Saturday by heading over to Taima TV. They play other miscellaneous programs up until the live broadcast starts. Live Streams of the Superhero Time block start at 5:30 PM Eastern Standard Time on Saturdays. |
Another solid episode. I'm digging how serialized the show has been the past month or so, although I won't be too surprised if that stops for a while after the next episode.
One thing that jumped out at me with this one was how serious Lucky was the whole time. I wasn't paying attention enough to give the よっしゃラッキー!count (I think 0?), but there wasn't a single gag from the guy the whole episode. For how annoying Lucky can be at times, he's got some layers. |

Also, I like that Bam Bam Flintstone is Lucky's daddy. In case no one got the subtle references. Don Armage looks like a reject from ToQger's MOTW lineup. I kind of like it. Too bad now we have to wait another episode for more Nagaquest so they can give us discount Big One. |

lol Toei doing the 'with death comes the final upgrade' scenario again...xD
(i hope the other Kyurangers can use the Saiko Kyutama but since its a whole new suit..and not just some additional part-like armor...probably no...) |
Really plot heavy episode. I like the way things seem to be heading and some of the mysteries that are being set up. The introduction of Orion was cool and like with Echidna, I'm interested in what he effect in terms of plot. The implication that Lucky is his son is a little puzzling. I want to see how it plays out but if they go in the direction that I think they are going, that's going to cause a lot of problems in regards to time travel. Speaking of Lucky, he was pretty full force in his seriousness which makes sense given the gravity of the situation. It's a nice way to build up to Shishi Red Orion next week. The action was also pretty on top. There were so many cool shots, from the three simulataneous fights with the Vice-Shoguns, FPS Ryu Commander, to even the river scene when Tsurugi and the others decide to follow Luckys plan. Finally the introduction of Don Armage was just awesome, with how effortlessly he took down Lucky and the reveal of his true form.

I begin to wonder what effect on the future the pre-emptive death of Ms. Triceratits will have on Naga. Will he never have been tempted to the dark side at all or will some one else have corrupted him? I mean, they need to showcase the Black Hole Kyutama in the show, after all.
I really just want best boy back ;_; |

Ugh, the show has lots the momentum it really had a few weeks ago. This episode was pretty lackluster and I'm not sure if it was due to bad audio mixing or just a terribly rushed plot, but I could not sit still during this one.
Also, great, so not only is Lucky already a mcguffin, but now he is a descendant of Orion. Lovely. At least now we know how the Death Worm ate one of the Kyu Globes because that was totally something I have been pondering over the last 15 episodes. On the positive side, the design for Don Amarge looks down right badass. I hope we finally get development for him from this point. |
