Loving that Cyclone Joker. Can't complain.
|
Well I got some stickers.
I'm not sure I've shared this before but I customized my Nintendo Switch to match Kamen Rider Double: https://i.imgur.com/xL9GjNk.jpg and I recently got some random stickers from a yahoo auction lot so I put them inside the joycons. https://i.imgur.com/ebKYVAf.jpg It's okay that the Switch kickstand breaks off all the time, nobody's perfect. https://i.imgur.com/amDIbp2.jpg The little circle stickers look weird inside the joycons, but they've actually inspired me to try and print my own form-fitting stickers to match better. Looks like I have a new project this weekend! Anyone have some hi-resolution images of the cyclone and joker memories??? |
I recommend vinyl sticker paper if your printing at home. Real lifesaver for stickers and creates a really durable and clear sticker. But a decal would give cleaner and far more sramless results. Probably a print shop like staples could hook you up with both for really cheap.

I've been meaning to do this paint job for a long while. What better use of my holiday free time than painting my absolute favorite Kamen Rider merch collection!
https://i.imgur.com/bXwVlKI.jpg These are Converge figures, and they are my favorite because they are the smallest Kamen Rider figures available that still have the double-layer compound eye effect. Their paint applications are already astounding but I decided to add even more details- namely in the belts and any big missing places like the gloves. Total job for all 20 figures was 5 hours! https://i.imgur.com/iaBh7Lg.png I've highlighted all the parts that I've added. I also touched up some parts that had bad painting from the factory. https://i.imgur.com/dROx2bQ.png Look at that, Ryuki and Build are practically perfect, and I didn't have to add anything to them, while Ghost has just a tiny part on the belt which is largely preference. For reference, this is what they look like out of the box: https://i.imgur.com/lFz3lUR.jpg OOO, Wizard, and Drive had the greatest improvements. For Wizard, we can finally see the rings on his fingers. Zi-O is still missing some paint because I don't have a good match for his magenta highlights. Gaim was the trickiest doing the lines on his arms and legs. https://i.imgur.com/w0yaSFP.jpg I was actually so worried about messing up that I secured a second copy of Gaim. The absolute hardest thing was painting the tiny gold edge around the hand on the Wizardiver. I actually cut a Q-tip in half and used the edge of the paper stem! Now I need to decide if I want to detail up the secondaries and other Converge figures I have... |
Amazing work, as always! That Wizard looks gorgeous. I'd love to get a better look at him.
|
I guess Build was so perfect he didn't need any touch ups.
|
Those little touch ups add so much!
|
Okay I've taken some close-up images of each figure and put them in an album.
https://imgur.com/a/a0ojLQz These pictures make them bigger than they are in real life and I don't think they were intended to be viewed this closely! |
Soiya! Orange Arms! Hanamichi on stage!
https://i.imgur.com/7Up0jBn.jpg SO-DO Gaim has arrived! Of all the Heisei Riders I paint, I always look forward to Gaim the least. He is a beautiful rider but full of exquisite detail and lots of unique metallic parts. This time around however, Gaim's forearm and thigh details are not engraved into his mold and instead the figure takes advantage of stickers. And it is a fully loaded sticker sheet! https://i.imgur.com/4YVbQUK.jpg After the build was complete the stickers looked like this: https://i.imgur.com/wkPJ3mO.jpg https://i.imgur.com/5YtFaFT.jpg So from top to bottom: Gold paint on the back of the ankles, extra gold paint on the kneepads. Metallic black on the belt, Shine Silver on the belt details. The Sengoku driver was cut up to better fit on the mold. Yellow paint on the belt strap. Gold paint on the wrist cuffs and the front of the shoulders. Shine Silver on the chest armor detail parts. Metallic black on the upper part of the chest armor (replacing the stickers). Metallic Orange detail on the inside of the armor and helmet. Metallic Black under the helmet where it can be seen from the front. Metallic black on the "tubes" on the top of the armor. https://i.imgur.com/VhMGwLO.jpg I like painting SO-DO hands because you can keep them on the runner! I painted metallic black and silver along the edges of the weapons before putting the stickers on. Metallic green on the hilt of the Musou Saber. https://i.imgur.com/dPDYFnN.jpg https://i.imgur.com/1oR8Lp9.jpg SO-DO Gaim is beautiful figure and you can really see just how far the SO-DO line has come. We've now got torso articulation, extendable wrists, and hidden joints. Next up on the painting list: Figure Rise Standard Kamen Rider Decade! |
Genuinely thought this was the SHF when I clicked. Holy shit.
