Saban Brands To Close July 2018
60 layoffs announced as part of Hasbro purchase.

What the fuck.
|
Well I'm not too surprise.
|
And so begins the Age of Hasbro.
|
"At time of writing, it remains unknown if Hasbro any of the dismissed employees."
I feel like there is a word missing here. |

Damn you Hasbro!!!
|
Well, I guess that means we can kiss the Power Rangers movie sequel goodbye!
|
Well when they make the episode of the Toys That Made Us of Power Rangers, the end of the episode will just be people talking about losing their jobs.

So I guess that Aniki deal from yesterday is in the shitter already, huh? This Hasbro Era transition has been a wild ride. I can't wait to see what happens next.

It is a shame that the employees will suffer! It would be a good thing for Hasbro to offer these people a job so that they won't be hurt economically. This changes the idea of some people who thought they could go work for Saban Brands and contribute in some way to the franchise. Looks like Hasbro is about to have a pseudo-monopoly at the toy aisle! |
I feel really bad for the people who are going to lose their jobs from this.
|
This isn't anything to do with Hasbro. They don't need anyone from Saban Brands because they have a full in-house team. Everyone currently involved with the franchise is being given the boot, albeit their contracts aren't continuing, from Boom Studios and Nickelodeon to the New Zealand film crew.
|
I hope this won't affect the Sentai home video releases. I was told that Shout! Factory licenses the Super Sentai shows through Saban Entertainment, not Toei directly. So with Saban gone, will Hasbro be okay with more Sentai releases?
Saban getting the PR rights back in 2010 allow Super Sentai to get a home video release for once. Media Blasters told me at Otakon in 2015 (I visited their table when I was working in the dealers room) that they wanted to release Super Sentai on DVD in the mid-late 2000's, but Disney said no. |
I'll wait until we get to see how Beast Morphers perform, but for now I feel sorry for the employees that have been laid off. Hopefully they'll continue to get another job.
But the same cannot be said to Haim Saban. Screw him, and good riddance. |
FYI the latest rumblings are Bandai and Toei are taking Hasbro into private arbitration over the brand name and rights.
My theory is they'll just formally divorce Super Sentai and Power Rangers from Ninninger onwards, and be allowed to adapt the show themselves as a new show, but we'll see. And I firmly believe 100% the decision to adapt Go-Busters was because of an impending legal battle. Whatever spin anyone tells you is a lie. |

Could the company be renamed as Hasbro brands ?

If all that is true then Power Rangers is definitely dead in the water.

So Power Rangers will now be made by Hasbro Studios.

If it goes animated, then its dead. It might as well not be Power Rangers anymore at that point.
|
May this company Rest In Peace.
