Official Uchuu Sentai KyuRanger Rumor Thread
The 41st Super Sentai Series is fast approaching, and new rumors are already circling the Internet about this new series!
Based on the name, we can expect a space-themed series. Current rumors suggest the team's powers will be based on planets and/or constellations. Another big rumor at the moment suggests that all the Rangers will be named after singers. Could music be the series' secondary theme? Salt not included. :P More details are certainly coming soon! |
Oh God I hope the mecha isn't shit.
Watch it be just giant balls/planets with little flip out arms and legs for robots. Still, gonna hope for the best, expect the worst. |
I like the rumor that they each have a UFO. That sounds right up my crazy alley!
|
Will the Post Anniversary 3-man Team trend continue? Only time shall tell!
|
1st set of colors for 41st are
red blue black yellow pink 2nd set of colors for 41st red blue green yellow pink |
Maybe we might get a space police team named after the Police.
|
Either way, it's a Space themed Sentai. I'm happy about this. Extremely happy!! I can't wait to see what they come up with for this.
|
Will they be aliens? I hope they're aliens~

I'm hoping for cool spaceship zords. Especially since if patterns hold, Saban will skip Minecraftger and go straight to whatever this will be after Super Ninja Steel. Space ships can look like almost anything, so there should be no shortage of creative ideas. (that are also good)
I also wouldn't mind decent space-themed suits, but I'm honestly expecting something really goofy there. |

Or constellation animals if they are truly going the goofy route. |

I'd still like something resembling a proper humanoid form for a change. Not saying everything needs to be Wild Force. But it'd help. |
Please let it take place in a school with a rebel leader with outlandish hair as the red ranger, have evil constellation MOTWs, and the rangers uses switches to transform. :p

I kinda liked Shurikenjin, save for the hat, but I enjoyed Ninninger's early mecha more for the wacky concept than for their execution. ToQger, meh. As much as I enjoy Zyuohger, I consider them to be the worse Sentai mecha I've seen so far. Sadly, Kyuranger is going to have to compete with Solar Saver for my affection. Ever since I saw that design, I've had a hard time swallowing Sentai's recent, ultra-gimmicky mecha. I... may be setting myself up for disappointment in this regard. There's no indication of Bandai/Toei trending away from gimmicks, and the Zyuoger mecha suggests they're going for ever greater simplicity and appeal to even younger viewers. |
no school base - i thinking 41st sentai base be like clock tower or turle flying shape island

I just hope that the suit designs and the mecha is very impressive. Megaranger was a space theme and I want this show to be just as good as that one was.
|
megaranger is video game and space
|
It's more modern (90's) technology, really. They barely leave orbit beyond to get the Mega Voyager, and the Megaranger video game pops up, like, 3 times. It's really forgettable.
|
their mentor cheate video game on planets
red be game chamopin of video game video planets game pick 5 chamions of 5 planets |
If this turns out to be true, I hope they actually do what I wanted to see them do with Dekaranger and have them actually travel to various planets.
|
Hmm... if they have them protecting a set of worlds, they'd probably be able to both make interesting locales as well as save on money compared to if they try to make a new world every single episode.
Although, in that case, I'd probably be more interested in the Power Ranger version, TBH, because, any other faults you may have with them, PR original costumes tend to look better compared to their SS counterparts, especially alien designs. Just IMO, but I prefer SPD Kruger to the Deka version by a wide margin. They could also cheap out of having alien civies and just have it all be human colonies... but that's kind of boring IMO. |
I hope protecting different worlds than just fighting in Japan.

I think more interesting locales would be great! But I wouldn't advise getting your hopes up. |

However, to be completely fair, the Alien Rangers look like trash. |

Well, I was more thinking the best way to portray other planets would just be to have the civies in alien costumes with some appropriate scenery. Slap a suitable filter on and you have at least a passable foreign world.
I'm well aware of the budget constraints, which is part of limiting the number of "unique" locales so as to portion more time and funds to each, allowing them to be better while still being cost effective. I know that it's all probably set in stone by this point anyway, but it's just something I like to speculate on. |
I don't have much hope for the series, to be fair/honest.
There's a push from TOEI to keep Kamen Rider and Super Sentai audiences separate - one for ages 9 and up (Kamen Rider) and one for ages 5 and up (Super Sentai). The "hey kids, let's all dance!" at the end of each episode should be evidence enough of that, but hearing it from official sources is more depressing because it confirms my own feared beliefs. I hope I'm wrong and I hope this year it changes - the evidence that Super Sentai has been making less and less money each series should be enough of a hint to the executives that they need to go in a different direction - because I'd love to go all-in on a Sentai series. |
Man, the way you describe it, Super Sentai is almost... Infantile.
|
Yeah, with the exception of shows such as Shinkenger and Go-busters to name a few primarily they have gone with a more "kid-friendly" route it seems. I am sure I am missing out other examples besides the two above so apologies for that.
|
As much as I love Gokaiger and Gekiranger, Sentai has gone downhill since Dekaranger. It's the Japanese equivalent of The Simpsons.
You know what I would love to see done again in Sentai? The summer vacation arcs that they did back in the 80s and 90s. It doesn't seem like they have really had the rangers go out to some countryside for several episodes during the summertime like they used to. It's been pretty much homebase from start to finish. |
with out sentai footage be no pr series

Yeah...
Although, noting the history of this freaking undying franchise, that's probably a good sign for some point in the future. Every time it looks like the axe is seriously coming, they always bust out an at least solid series, if not a great one. Seriously, sometimes you just have to sit back and marvel at how unkillable Sentai and Rangers are. Rangers has been "officially" cancelled about 5 times, with only one of those actually sticking and only for a year then. I don't even know precisely how many times Sentai's faced it, and they've been running uninterrupted since freaking Battle Fever. That and the franchise is technically older than giants like freaking STAR WARS... Makes you wonder which'll end first, modern civilization or Sentai... |
