PR 2017 Putty Patrol Revealed
2 Attachment(s)
Pretty basic foot-soldiers. Not sure why he's milking a gigantic cow though...
I like them. It's the same basic concept bulked up, works fine for me.
Not a bad design, seems to be made from the environment judging be the grating. Looking forward to CG design
They're alright. If the movie was more reasonable with their design choices, I would say "It's what I'd expect from a redesign."
I hope they keep the sound of metal clanging when they're hit. |
Time to break out the drybrushing...
I'm fine with this, personally I think it looks better than the original design.
Putties were essentially Golems. THis just makes them look more like what they were supposed to be. I'm cool with it. XD
Hmm. Not much. Lets hope they look better in the movie.
Gives me a Clayface vibe, I like it.
Check out that exposed grid section on the chest. It looks like rebar, which makes me think that Rita will create them from surrounding materials rather than have them pre-made.
Looks alright. About what you'd expect to fit with the other designs.
See, this is actually a good redesign. To be fair, the Putties are some of the ugliest minions in either franchise so it's kind of hard to make something I like less.
Hey, this might just be the first thing in the movie that ISN'T horribly divisive!
I'd better not see any claims that this somehow doesn't look like a Putty. This is literally a buff Putty. I actually almost hope this is a special Putty and not what they're all like. Didn't we see a gooier Putty somewhere?
Huh, this might be the first redesign from this movie I actually like! Might have to do a little painting on the toy though.
Is anybody else reminded of Clayface?
Yeah this one looks totally fine. Pretty cool actually.

Well this is the first design from the movie that I have no issues with at all. It lives up to its name.

Pretty much the only redesign im ok with.
I really dig the screws and the metal grate. I'm totally okay with this.
The figure looks a bit plain though. |
I'm no expert but with the proper customizations and paint job you could probably make a decent custom Swamp Thing action figure with this.
Wow. I didn't think it was possible, but I haven't seen a single negative comment in this entire thread!
What's the catch? |

They have been clay figurines since day 1 so... no complain there. |
The only problem with it is a BoA problem and not a design problem. It lacks detail. Which has been BoA's problem since Samurai. The design I actually like, and I hope to see it in better detail on screen. And hopefully with a little color. I know, putty's are all gray anyway, but that mesh looks like rebar so it wouldn't have killed BoA to add a little paint. Still love it, looks like a menacing Putty. Like it's supposed to.

A design reminiscent of the original look. Instead of having stone clubs for hands, they just gave it gorilla arms, a fair revamp. A clear face, rather than some melting cheese. The face was made to look more like it was sculpted out of clay, rather than the wrinkly masks they originally used. It took the idea of clay golems and updated it, rather than having some hollywood exec give his take on what he thinks a creature called a putty should be (And ending up just aping the Chitauri or something) |
Definitely liking it. They do look like minions that could actually cause some real trouble for the rangers. Can't wait to see them in action!
The worst part about it is that it's a fairly generic mud monster ala Clayface, but then again the original Putties were hardly pillars of iconography.

That'd be cool if the Putties, rather than teleporting in, were just made on the spot from whatever mineral material was around.

Looks like a good design that'll hopefully look impressive in the movie itself. The wire mesh in the stomach and rebar in the legs are nice touches. If we get a non-gimmick figure in the 5" scale I'll probably get at least one of them. If for nothing else it would make for a good base for a Clayface custom.
Huh. This works a lot better than expected. I like the idea of them coming from the environment around them, instead of being "molded" and shoved through Finster's ridiculous contraption. It made sense back then, doesn't now.
This will work just fine for me. I like it, I like it a lot. |
I dig the design. I'll echo others who have said that they appear to be made from what Rita has available, which continues the "golem" aspect of inanimate material made to look like a man and brought to life. I imagine in the film they will each be a little different, with bits of rebar and other construction material sticking out of them.
