Power Rangers Adaptions \ Skipped Thread
Power Rangers Series I
Was supposed to start with Jet Man but Jet Man was too violent for the US series. Skipped for the 1992 Dino series which became MMPR I. Power Rangers Series II MMPR II held over the MMPR I morphed outfits. Yellow Dai (Great) Ranger had a drunk fighting style so outfits from MMPR I morphed outfits held. White Tiger adapted and Thunder Zords. Power Rangers In Space Changed from Mega Ranger's video game theme to a space theme. Power Rangers Mega Force \ Super Mega Force Angel theme replaced. Power Rangers Ninja Steel Saban Era II adapted this with a TV Game show twist (Galaxy Warriors) |
I don't know where you got those reasonings for skipping Jetman and the Dairanger suits from. They decided to go with Zyuranger over Jetman because dinosaurs would be a much bigger hit, and they kept going with the Zyuranger suits to keep that familiar iconography instead of suddenly switching to completely different suits after a year.

Well Power Rangers originally began as an adaptation of Sun Vulcan by Marvel Comics for HBO but the pilot was rejected and never saw the light of day. Then Saban recorded a pilot in the mid-1980's with American actors spliced with footage from Bioman and called it Galaxy Rangers at the time. He continued using this pilot each year but recycled Sentai footage for each current season until the one with Zyuranger footage was picked up.

The Dino Thunder episode, "Lost And Found in Translation", which depicts an Abaranger episode as semi-comedic in-show fiction, is in someway inspired by the Dynaman parody I believe. |

Turbo didn't seem to know whether it wanted to be serious or follow Carranger's parody-like leanings! Gingaman was on Earth, while Lost Galaxy was in space! S.P.D. was in the future when Earth joins an intergalactic community, while Dekaranger was about extraterrestrials in the present! RPM was dark and foreboding while Go-Onger felt more comedic and less serious in tone! Super Megaforce was about "Earth's Defenders" who respected the Rangers before them while Gokaiger was about Space Pirates who had no knowledge of Sentai and had to learn to respect them and the Earth! |
