Yes breaking from toei will mean live actions will be more expensive to make. Right now post DF we will have back pedal to adapt blocky words and cool ranger suits, rainbow trains, Too many rangers for a nick deal, cops and robbers, sparkly vehicles, or whatever we get in next from sentai. Of course some would be easier than others to adapt some will sell better but while the selection is vast there's any number of things to weigh.
Going free means freedom to try your own thing we know hasbo isn't afraid to shoot original footage. Òr even twist. Footage into more unique stories while saban felt trapped near the end. We can't judge stunt quality. Until it happens if the rumor is true it could be a blessing or a curse. Maybe the stunt quality will be on par with sentai maybe not but there's another advantage. If the stick with nick they can write stories for 20+2 episodes. Beast morphers s1 felt well composed to me I knew there was ore to come cause jp footage and news but stuff like Kyu would be hard. 9+ rangers sharing the spot light. Kyouryuu at least had the extra ranger be guest roles the main squad was always core5+gold and near the end silver. Grey aqua and violet were here and there. Kyuu all 9 are present early on one week we get red blue black green yellow the next gold and silver swap 2 out then pink tags in

Hopefully Jonathan Entwistle and Hasbro do better job with Power Rangers compare to Neo-Saban did.
I wonder if Hasbro is going to continue with Toei or stop collaboration with them in order to their own Power Rangers since some of Sentai shows ain't PR-Friendly.
Did I heard connected universe? I hope they set it up better compare to the early days of DCEU.
If they did the right way, I'm in.
Agreed vin13ish- when you have the source footage to use you can certainly rely to heavily on it sometimes it results in a good product- i mean Timeforce was fine it used a good deal of TImeranger footage as far as I can remember, Wild force also did a similar thing and was pretty good. Then you get stuff like Megaforce... they didn't need to cram a FULL series or close to a full series into 20+2 episodes they could of probably done fine with using just 2 of the 3 story arcs. Yes I get it they wanted to milk the toys... they wanted to include Gosei ultimate- they did leave out Datas Hyper and I THINK the ostrich(could be mistaken i know it didn't get a toy maybe it did show up I can't remember cause it wasn't all that important) But cramming 3 villain arcs into 20+2 episodes just hurt things...
Also i recall reading about how Toei had supposedly shot a version of the Legend war WITHOUT pre zyu rangers (not sure if it included dairangers or not, but we can probably assume that Spirit rangers and Titanium Ranger were absent just because suits likely weren't on hand for Japan to use. Whether this was true or not I can't say one way or another, maybe they forgot about it or something when assembling the first episode. Of course there was still the issue of the Goseigers being present so maybe that as a reason for Saban not using that version. Maybe Toei did it with the mindset that the gokai adapt team would be SEPERATE from the Gosei adapt team. But yeah SMF did a decent job digitally replacing Gosei Red with another Red(think it was bouken?) But I also recall reading that one of the people basically blew the budget by trying to reproduce sentai scenes when in the past PR has been perfectly content with inconsistancies during monster fights alley one scene clearly not the same alley the next, back into first alley its sorta what we expect after all.
But yeah I still say the upside to breaking ties with Toei would be freedom to do your own thing to hand craft a story that can be told in 20+2 episodes in fact... if it wasn't for the merch (Beast X king zord, and Beast X mode) Hasbro could of done decent enough with JUST season 1 of Beast morphers. SUre it had its faults every ranger show does. But with a few minor tweaks they could of probably been perfectly fine with 1 20+2 episode PR season.
Again Toys are a huge factor, MEgaforce managed to squeeze all of the Gosei mecha, minus Datas which they found away around into the series and toyline. Yes Hasbro had the extra hurdle of needing to MAKE the toys instead of relying on another company to do that for them. So There was likely more of a NEED to squeeze as much out of Beast morphers as possible and rushing to fit all the mecha into 1 year would be a lot of headache since that would mean rushing to produce and ship ALL the figures and mecha in that 1 year WHILE starting to work on scripts and such for whatever was to follow.
Going out on their own will be risky no doubt... The stunts might suck, they probably won't be better than they are now but I feel we'll probably have something comparable. Also PR has a huge problem in this current era-its kinda hard for it to sell the mecha. Yes Sentai mecha is more expensive but at least from what we've seen in the past that 60-80 USD for the main mecha means decent quality... while a 30 dollar PR counterpart might be rather short, or just awkwardly proportioned. Heck I know some people weren't fond of the pose for beast morphers gorilla zord. At least the build a megazord MMPR dino megazord set (20 bucks a pack or whatever) looks of decent quality I mean I enjoyed the 'remastered' megazord from 2010 was it? Maybe its cause my mom was too cheap back in the days of MMPR to buy me a megazord.
But yeah sadly PR mecha has to sort compete with the sentai mecha in this day and age where its somuch easier to order from japan than it was around the time of Gaoranger for example. Going and doing their own thing means having a chance that maybe more people will give the ranger mecha a chance since well clearly theres no way they already have the sentai model.
But yeah Also I'm curious about the wording on the connected universe thing I mean technically Ninja Steel set that up with the dimensional hopping bit near the end. IS Hasbro doing a full reboot of sorts with Dino Fury and beyond? Are we just going to have a series of netflix specials and such that kinda go Well after series X so and so moved to Town Z and started company W that went on to create the tech for ranger team number 5000?
