Yet one crucial question remains:
"Why is the thinnest wall on that particular component,
the component that is connected to the arm peg,
so pathetically thin
so much as even thinner than the metal axis?"
I will not be surprised if crack eventually starts forming along that wall.
I agree with you.
I'm all for those things.
I'm all for progression.
I'm all for improvement.
I'm all for innovation.
Several things for Bandai (and other companies) to consider:
Please, please, please...
Be aware of
point of diminishing return.
Be aware of
what benefit that you will get
vs
the cost that you will have to pay.
Be aware of
total structural collapse.
Duuude!
Of course I know about all those points!
Those are NOT my points.
Of course a sofubi RHS Kamen Rider figure
will DEFINITELY outlive all of today's 1/12 action figures.
Of course your vintage 5 point Kenner Star Wars action figures
are WAAAY less fragile, thus more reliable,
compared to the majority of today's flagship 1/12 action figures.
Perhaps it will even outlive my car.
And of course I know that
ANY additional articulation
WILL increase fragility.
I have NEVER stated nor implied
that ANY increase of fragility is BAD.
What I have stated or implied is:
- What I warned Bandai of is not mere fragility,
but the nastiest type of fragility,
that, if left without redundancy,
exposes the system to TOTAL STRUCTURAL FAILURE,
because
- There is a LIMIT, defined by material strength,
of how much articulation you can cram into a tiny space
before the material fails completely.
So, by taking this reasoning to its logical conclusion,
we can be certain that
- There is a point,
an acceptable point,
a point of diminishing return
of added articulation vs increased fragility.
So far, for SHF Kamen Rider series,
that point is the old elbow joint system.
You go past that limit,
and the increase in fragility,
thus the decrease of product reliability that you get
will far outweigh the benefit of the added articulation.
And the last point,
- The fragility issue
is about the new SHF SS elbow and knee joint systems,
especially the new elbow joint system,
compared to the old SHF elbow joint system,
especially on the SHF Kamen Rider lines.
NO MORE, NO LESS.
Please notice the scope of the issue:
- Figure series: SHF and SHF SS
- Character series: Kamen Rider
- Problematic areas: Elbow and knee joint system,
especially elbow one
- Benchmark: the old SHF Kamen Rider elbow & knee joint systems
So, please focus the discussion on those things,
and please refute my points without straying from
what I'm talking about.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Could you please provide the link(s) to my posts
where I stated or at least implied the idea of
"Oh you've just been lucky, they WILL break"?
I have re-read my previous posts
and none of them stated nor implied that idea.
This again. Can we all just say a certain batch of SS OOO just had weird QC issues that caused the joint to crack? I've already found out that the SS OOO joint is the same "fighting body" joint as the Street Fighter SHFs and I haven't seen any of those guys break and they've been out WAY longer than SS OOO.
Also, that is one bizarre way to write a paragraph.
