Store C comes into the picture because I ask them about a whole different item entirely, and on a whim I ask them if they have any spare Kuugas lying around.

And they did !

Because of the unexpected delays Store B offers to refund and Store C had pretty much the same price. There's no real lesson here other than bad bood-keeping and dumb luck happen, but it never hurts to ask !
