I've suspected for a while that Gege is some sort of spy working against the baddies. He's been maipulating the big bad from the start, manuvering the other two against each other, keeping the baddie from having any confidence in his underlings whatsoever and pretty much been sewing chaos from the start.

Whoever he really is, he's not at all who he appears to be.

Doesn't mean he's actually good, though, just working against the same enemy.
