Sweet! Glad to see that I wasn't just spouting off misinformation! I'm about to watch the second episode and I'll post up my commentary/review a little later, but I enjoyed the first episode more than I thought, so I'm hoping it keeps it going!

Onto Kuuga itself, I loved the first 4 episodes, but as the series went on I got bored rather quickly. Yeah, sadly I prefer the more action oriented shows because this is Tokusatsu after all, and watching Kuuga especially in these days, it really does feel like they wanted it to be a cop show more than a tokusatsu show. However I dropped it halfway through so I don't know if the show evolved or stayed the same.
That being said, my favorite episode was when Kuuga got his bike the first time. Seeing him doing some unique stunts with the bike is really something, especially these days where bike actions are scarce due to budget/time/location issues.
Yeah, I figured if I was going to copy KRD, I might as well make it as blatantly obvious as possible so that way it didn't look like I was trying to be sneaky about it.
I'm sorry to hear that you didn't like it, if only because I'd love for every Rider Show to be enjoyable to everyone.
I did get that feel from the first episode, and I'm not sure if that a good thing or a bad thing yet, but we'll find out! I'm looking forward to seeing the early Heisei if only to see if they actually do more with the bikes then the later ones.

How are those? I'm waiting for Shout Factory to (Hopefully) release an Aba set because Dino Thunder was one of my favorites. I just finished Kakuranger so I haven't decided what Sentai I want to watch next. If you do start Kuuga, come join us for more Rider discussion!

I'll admit, the first episode was waaaaaaaay more spooky then I thought it was going to be, and I liked that. I wanted Ghost to lean more into that supernatural, campy horror. But instead we got...what we got.

Yeah, that was my big thing with the first episode that I like; The lack of collectibles being shoved in my face. I know I'm not the demographic, and its a show designed to sell toys, but I like that we get a feel for base form Kuuga before he suddenly has 4 extra transformation and two additional weapons.
