Well, I've seen you've forgotten, but dunno if I'm outright putting the post link will help (I didn't post the parts of the reply because I'm trying to make it quick). Or to still be valid about talking about this in the first place.

Oh, you talking about the show being used to be about something? About it giving some moral to teach? Well, yeah, that's something Inoue can pull over, about him being edgy, as you pointed out before, he made the characters became toxic for the sake of becoming toxic (they can be petty, mean, lazy, etc.), but of course, the parts where him give some moral, it's when he's being kept on a leash. And as you said that you're not a fan of any version of Everyone Needs To Be X in Faiz thread, dunno how's about that in Hibiki here as everyone's getting turned into that for the 2nd half here, where you did say at episode 36, you don't love Akira turning her back from the cast to Shuki. Part of someone's attempt to make a show "memorable" is inserting as much negativity into it, who gives a damn fuck about morals? Kiriya asking Hibiki why he's hanging out with someone lame and priding themselves of being a douchebag is expressed by real life edgelords (if they can only shit-stirring like being stuck on internet). I don't know if you'll eventually pull something like this here as you see Asumu not telling go to hell to Kiriya as him being doormat (bullying nature alert).
And not seeing Asumu or Kiriya for the rest of this episode, is the normal part of the Hibiki's retool of the second half. Which is of course the Rider and monsters taking a center stage, and the other parts being shoved away. And it's right, Kogure is really mean for the bulk of the story, he spends time righting others' wrongdoings (to him), but he's also comes off as self-righteous and always seeing himself as in right blindly. I find it unsettling for the Takeshi cast to talk about him in awe (or no offense, it could be Inoue projecting himself in Kogure to see that kind of behavior as right), as the Takeshi cast is supposed to be not a fighter, but a role model too, for them to mentor others. And yeah, Hibiki Armed actually debuted here, previously it was just crimson.

This one's something I'd (and a good number of others) complain regarding characterization, flanderization, which means taking a single action or trait of a character within a work and exaggerating it more and more until it completely consumes the character, the trait/action becomes completely outlandish and it becomes their defining characteristic. And one of it is making an eccentric character became outright stupid and... insane - out of reality; unable to perform even the most simple tasks or understand the simplest thing. Making misunderstandings that isn't need to be done just to give something a plot and something to overcome means a writing flaw actually, with the flaw being forced it would mean meaningless trouble for everyone that's not worth doing other than just to cause some suffering, and as there can be another way to give something a plot and something to overcome, it's also an uncreativity (though Inoue is likely isn't that, but him being probably twisted to constantly shove his edginess into story), and something behind edginess in some shows. And for this episode, what I don't want to happen happened here, which is flanderization like Todoroki for above, and also Hinaka for being turned into terrible girl who is manipulative and selfish (it's white knight-ish if you'll blame anything on Todoroki and justify everything Hinaka does blindly).
And... it's not robot who pulls a What Is this Emotion You Humans Call Love, people like Kiriya is the one I know that can pull out something like this (well, they think their behavior is cool and Asumu's one is lame), they are those that will view emotions as weakness and mocks those who had it (except anger, for those who channels toxic masculinity - which Kiriya can have with his insistence to compete on anything) as crybabies. And if the advice is suck it up, this is probably uninentional for Hibiki's case (and more like him not being able to), but this shows some jerkishness - indifference in the adviser's part, and this can surely be pulled out by those type of people I mentioned here too. This can be used to let douchebags get away with their deeds, with pinning the blame on the victims and telling them to suck it up - where there's nothing wrong in those jerks.
Also now I'm confused about something here. You said if someone have differing viewpoints (like Inoue), you would be interested to hear about what you say, but when , you remarked that it feels like someone eviscerating something you've enjoyed and rhetorically, it's like getting your face punched so hard that you're knocked on your ass. And the "I'm glad you found something to like in it, though!" part means that same person helping you up off of the ground. So do you actually tolerant of those viewpoints and not completely blind?

It's refreshing to see someone having zero patience on Kiriya. More that treatment to douchebags like that. I'd admit this one should get the props for not having the characters being OOC. Being training for Oni is just one of the jobs that is available in the world, in this case, Hibiki's world, so it'd apply to anything, not only asking for yourself, why you want to become an Oni? But also, as Akira had to shoulder 2 tasks at once, why Akira agrees with what Ibuki thinks about experiencing better life with going to school?

And by Shuki telling Akira to channel hatred as something to fuel and empower, the consequences are clearly seen, with her likely doing more harm than good just out of personal reasons (selfishness), like her harming Zanki to get through Notsugo. Worse, she had no remorse on her wrongdoings and just thinks about it as a necessary casuality to kill Onis. This is just like Ryuki's Shinji vs Kagawa, Blade's Kenzaki vs Tachibana, or Build's Sento vs Katsuragi, where Shuki is definitely the latter in those, Shuki is a machiavellian and extremist. While Kiriya resembles Kusaka in social part, Shuki likely resembles Kusaka too, in her approach to enemy way.
And I agree, the other Onis are doing poor job to prevent Akira straying to that path, and Shuki's machiavellian views had numerous audiences agree upon, for reasons I've explained in Blade's thread (Kenzaki trying to save Hajime, while Tachibana just wants to kill them, which you pointed out as Tachibana just going shortcut in the solution, but a good number of audience see Kenzaki as the one naive, risky way and not making much sense, and seess Tachibana killing as necessary loss for the needs of the many). No wonder that Shuki got kicked out from being an Oni, she got the skill and power, but not the moral. Shuki's a morally ambiguous person, and her sacrifice is probably, like Sawada, not meant to be glorified, though the other characters like Zanki surely do, for his emotional attachments to him.
