Messing around with this figure again and... I'm kinda feeling buyer's remorse, I'm not gonna lie.
I gotta preface this by saying that I'm not attached to the comics or the character anymore and that's like half the reason; so this isn't me having a massive critical re-evaluation of the figure itself. It's still an awesome design, and one that LC replicates pretty well! But... man. The limited hand options are getting to me.
I genuinely believe this is the worst part of the line -- some paint apps missing? Bad, sure; but they're always minor enough to ignore and accept on a 20$ line. Missing accessories? Again, I can accept some in a 20$ line; and only truly get annoyed when it's as bad as Zeo Blue. But what's important to me over anything else is the
expression
you can get out of these figures... and that's kinda hard to do on some of them with a limited selection of hands! Sometimes you get lucky like with DT White where his splayed hand is enough to convey a lot even if it's only a few poses; but here on Ranger Slayer? You get the stuff necessary to wield her bow; one closed fist; and that stupid karate chop they insist on giving to so many figures. That's it. There's
nothing
there I can use for evoking emotion, hell; there only being one closed fist means I can only get a
neutral
pose when she's holding the bow (and only on one specific side!). This heavily limits her to action poses with the bow, and those are great, but again: if I want her gesturing, or posing, or doing anything else that's kinda cool that's not fighting, I'm out of luck.
It's a shame because again, beautiful figure, but I can only have her either fighting or standing there. A single extra pair of hands would massively improve every LC figure imo, and I'm starting to wonder if there's some kind of third party or 3D printer out there that can help with that. It seems silly to have so much complaint come from such small accessories... but genuinely, at this rate I'd get much more use and variety with Souchaku Henshin hands. I want to do more with this figure but I can't.
