No.
It's not the beats of a story, but how it's told. When you boil a story down to it's basic elements, you'll find many similarities throughout multiple genres. Hell, Zyuohger is literally just a fish out of water story mixed with a generic alien invasion sci-fi story. It's doing nothing new. Why is Zyuoh The World's story going to be the chore to endure when Zyuoh is just "Characters interact with common concept that they don't get" and then "Alien attacks, stop the alien?" The issue would be if they try to play this seriously, as if there was any chance of TheWorld actually wiping off the Zyuogers. On a show like this that doesn't work, for example Starninger, nobody could ever take his death threats seriously even if they were supposed to. |

Yes it depends on how they play it, with past rangers like the Go-on Wings and GoseiKnight it was always clear they were on the same team and just needed to warm up to the main heroes, that is fine.

We haven't got a VILLAINOUS Sixth Ranger since AbareKiller which was 13 YEARS AGO! How is that a chore to sit through?! If you haven't watch Zyuranger or Abaranger, Both Dragon Ranger and AbareKiller start out as an enemy to Zyuranger and Abranger! Watch AbareKiller's Debut episode! He almost KILL Ryouga to the point Ryouga's niece thought he was going to DIE! Jesus! What kind Antagonistic Sixth Ranger would tries to attempted murder Red Ranger?! Explain that! |

So, what? Lemme break some things down.
The portal to Zyuland will be restored and the Dethgalians will lose. We all know this is going to happen, and those are the major conflicts of the story. Why would them playing Zyuoh The World's story straight be such a problem? Yes, as an audience, we all know he'll join up with the heroes and help them fight the Dethgalians. But, as I said, as an audience, we also know the heroes will survive and get back home (Whether or not they stay will be up to the writer wanting a schmultzy ending or not, but the point is that they manage to reopen the portal), and that the antagonists will lose, likely die. We all knew GIFT wouldn't kill the Zyuohgers, that Larry would defeat his fear and disdain for humanity, etc etc. Just because we know where the story is going to go doesn't mean we can't enjoy the ride to get there.

... moving along, I think I see how my comments were interpreted, and that was not my intent.
My issue is not whether a story is predictable or not. Heck I follow these news because I'd rather know the story beats in advance instead of going in blind. I just don't like infighting within heroes, I'd rather see the heroes work together to defeat the villain than see them actively try to harm each other. TheWorld will ultimately join the team and be as much of a hero as any of them so it falls under that even if he's to be initially introduced as an antagonist. I'm not coming here to tell others how to enjoy a show or not anyways. |

From how things seem, he's gonna be a villain on introduction, akin to AbareKiller. He even sent me a PM for some reason.
