While I am not sure, in fact no one is sure, how Hasbro is going to handle the giant robots everyone loves, it’s always nice to hold out hope that eventually we can get actual articulation on them. And with the simple designs of the trains as literal smooth tubes, I doubt it would be that hard to add joints that you’d have on the Minipla. Instant play value to toys that American kids wouldn’t like as much since trains aren’t as popular here. Police, Fire and maybe a few others could see themselves get simple robot modes a la the Micromaster Windy/Midnight Express here
Only trouble might be TeiOh and ToQRainbow since they don’t lend themselves to 15 POA as much. But if you can make Masterpiece Dinobot work, you could make something work on giving the rainbow station working legs. Easily. Right? Speaking of, giving the giant robots actual characters would also make the trains more desirable because hey, cool action train robot Rail Racer with a character we get to see outside of combat endears to kids more than an emotionless titan of trains would. It worked for stuff like the Engine Souls in Go-Onger right? How about the really crazy imaginations stuff? How do you get the big combined weapon to work out? Younger tweencom cast. Yeah yeah, “but Justin/the Beetleborgs sucked” but I’m sure Hasbro’s had likable kid characters mesh with robots before and made it work. Plus kids like that kind of wacky humor if YouTube metrics, Minions and the plethora of goofy blindpack toys out there can attest to. Do you think it’d be possible to make it work and succeed? Hasbro’s buy out sure made it sound like they knew that they could do everything way better than Saban and Bandai were. Or is the song and dance of “make the train show work” played out at this point and not worth entertaining anymore? Who knows? Just wanted to post these ideas I had to the site and see what you all think. |

One crazy idea is the Thomas the Tank Engine Megazord. You know you all would buy it.
As for the toys I think each one would have a bit of a gimmick something like the liners from Den-O to help sell them. Personally I wouldn't mind if they could transform similar to Super Liner Dagwon and Tri/Battle Bomber from the Brave series. Though since Hasbro has control of both show and toys anything could be possible determining on what way they want to take it. |
