This Thread is to continue the celebration of P.R. and its ongoing 25 years of Power!
One can discuss most anything related to Season 1, from specific episodes to random thoughts about the Season to first experiences. For the record, today itself is the anniversary of a specific episode debut! Can you guess which one? Of course, one doesn't have to ONLY discuss a specific episode on the anniversary of its original debut; just an added bonus. Many modern episodes get discussion threads, but most of the older ones have been discussed so many times, it's hard to find all of the compiled information. Some may have never seen the old episodes, and others have new, fresh thoughts on old episodes as time passes. What is your favorite Season 1 episode? What is your favorite Season 1 Monster? What are your least favorite Episodes and Monsters from Season 1? If you need assistance in certain details, check the links below! http://www.morphinlegacy.com/legacy-...mpr/i-episodes https://www.grnrngr.com/episode-guides/ P.S.: I'll share first: The first P.R. VHS I got was "Happy Birthday Zack", and it holds a certain sentimental value to me. That episode, however, is not the one that debuted 25 years ago today! |

Best Episode? Food Fight.
Best Monster? Pudgy Pig. That food fight scene was replayed a lot of times on the VCR when I was a wee lad. Despite the show having much better episodes and monsters, Food Fight still to this day is my favorite episode. The actual food fight was fun to watch at the time too.

Some of the favorites...
Bones is the first genuine Monster of P.R. and an altogether different one to. He wasn't destroyed in a standard fashion, but he did have his own troops. It's a mild shame that Zyuranger didn't have his counterpart enlarge! Pudgy Pig is a little too popular for his own good! That said, he is easy to relate to as a villain and one cheesy enough for P.R., though his Zyuranger counterpart found ways to make his actions less cheesy than P.R., which toned down the mythological origins. I like Eye Guy for his design and his abilities. His debut episode doesn't hold a lot of sway for me (though some may disagree). His suit lasted a long time as well, being seen in the background well into Lightspeed Rescue's finale! As stated earlier, "Happy Birthday Zack" was the first P.R. VHS for me, and I hold a certain love for this guy because of it. He makes a good figure, and I do believe that he could and should come back in different forms; an predominantly red form of Knasty Knight would be very interesting. Theoretical Occurrence: Knasty Knight Red Version VS. Megaforce Robo Knight Pineoctopus makes no sense whatsoever when looking at him! You don't even know how someone would dream this up! But his voice actor gives off a lot of villainous charisma, which adds something both quantifiable and qualitative. Me and this guy have history, but it took a long time! An old picture book was the first exposure, and then "Lord Zedd's Monster Heads"! He made an impression and I wanted to know more, but it was years before I saw his episode. Years after seeing it, I wanted it again, but ABC Family NEVER aired it! I had to go to Youtube to see it again, and it was nothing like I remembered (in terms of how actions were performed)! Like Pineoctopus he has a sense of cheesy, villainous charisma (if you can call it that) which makes him appear far more layered than he actually is! Part of the reason for this is because he never stops laughing or chattering! He aired before Tommy, making him the first instance of a genuine threat! He used no weapons other than his own body, and could have actually won! I have wondered what the actors thought of him when they were doing this episode! I also wondered how a figure of him would work, and then Imaginext came out with that repainted mold in his name (which I never found)! If you get the P.R. Playing Card Deck, he is the only Monster in it (at least in mine)! This guy is the dream, but a modern dream at that! Walter White did Snizzard!!! Okay, that isn't exactly true, but close! Bryan Cranston did this guy before doing 2017 Zordon! The episode is one that holds-up because of the real-life drama of Kim trying to land a plane! Snizzard is the essence of cheese given his vocal style, but this is immortalized in my brain for another reason! To promote the 2017 Movie, Cranston appeared on Stephen Colbert in a Red Ranger suit (ha ha ha!) and not only did this episode come up, Colbert mentioned "Snizzard" by name and showed a few scenes from the episode in which the focus was on Snizzard and less on the Rangers (though Trini's voice was heard given the footage used)! When late night comedians are mentioning specific P.R. Monsters by name...THE RANGERS HAVE ARRIVED!!! THE FRANCHISE IS VALIDATED!!! This is getting long! More to come! http://www.morphinlegacy.com/legacy-...mpr/i-monsters |
