For the shows that didn't last long. For the movies that didn't have an impact. For any element of science fiction that might have a niche audience and a dedicated fanbase, but without all of the cultural recognition.
Here's one: Captain Power and The Soldiers of the Future https://tokuzilla.net/watch/captain-...he-future.html So what exactly was so "controversial"? They had J. Michael Straczynski as a head writer! |

And maybe I misunderstood the topic, but the Turkish Spiderman deserves much more attention.
For those who aren't ready to watch a cheap Turkish fan movie from '73, imagine that this cheap Turkish fan movie was directed by J. Jonah Jameson. Spiderman here is a gangster who cuts debtors with a boat propeller and kills women in the shower. At the same time, Captain America is quite classic, although he looks like a not very diligent cosplayer. In general, the project is truly unique in its kind. As memory serves, the controversy was based around the integration of the toys - there were parts of the show that had flashing lights and you could use some of the toys to "play along" at home. It worked a lot like the old Nintendo Light Zapper in that you aim at parts of the screen to score points. This was around the time that parent groups were starting to get more vocal about the heavy commercialization of children's television. Having a show were you "had" to buy the toys to watch was a deliberate misreading of the situation, but it still got some bad press. Add in that the violence was live action instead of animated, and it's not really surprising that the show was cancelled after one season.

Firefly was a case of one series and gone but they did a movie.
Apart from a few books is there a chance for a relaunch? They seriously could have done more with it to build that series out. Also Farscape could have gotten a Series V. That series was too good to end. That's what I hate. The really good sci Fi shows bite it and the ones that suck stay for years. Give me a break.

Toy collecting
This is two parts The hobby side This is where someone gets an item just because the price is low. The full set side People hunt all over trying to find that one missing item to finish the set but can't because no longer in print as it were. You need to also build the cllection when it starts up. I did this when Shout put out the Power Rangers DVDs. I got the box sets rather than wait months for the year releases. Took me 4 buy ins for MMPR - RPM. (Boxed sets) As for Toy Collecting try to buy in groups. Sometimes a missing item will be part of a group release.
