This, too, was a pretty good episode.
However, I do have a bit of a problem with Yamato resolving things with his father. It moved a little too quickly. It does make sense that having a simple talk would make a world of change (Especially as Yamato basically refused to acknowledge him for a while), but still... I do like that there was still a little hostility, though it's basically gone. Action was nice, and while Larri and Bard's proposition was predictably shot down, I did like the scene. Anyway, Naria is down. Took her long enough. Final episode looks to be a doozy.

I really enjoyed how the complex relationship between Yamato and his father was finally resolved. Looking forward to the finale and the premiere of Kyuranger! Getting the DX Seiza Blaster and Kyu Weapon will make me broke xD

Zyuohger continues to absolutely kill it.
Loved the stuff with Yamato and his dad, especially with Yamato explicitly calling himself out for being a hypocrite about the whole connections thing. I had the thought that they were patching things up a little quickly too, at first, but I don't really think that's the case at all. I can't imagine how doing it any other way would've made much sense, and the show played the conversation more as a big step in the right direction rather than "their relationship is suddenly perfect now", so it's cool. Everything else was pretty great too, of course. I'll never get tired of Larri and his inexplicable speech quirks, Mario is still great, Naria's exit was... kinda underplayed, but I suppose that's the point, and the action was neat. Speaking of which, wow. They just use the giant robot to drag the bad guys' house down from orbit and smash it into the ground? These Zyuohger guys are pretty freakin' hardcore. I'm starting to think the Dethgaliens really shouldn't have messed with their planet...

Considering even Genis was like "What's going on?" When his ship was getting pulled down, he definitely didn't calculate that happening

Another solid episode from one of the most solid Sentai of the modern era.
Like I've said before, this show is not reinventing the wheel. There's nothing particularly new or surprising or groundbreaking about it -- everything it's doing has been done about 20 times before. But it almost doesn't matter because the characters are great, and the way it deals with standard Sentai-isms is pitch perfect. It may not have the high points of a lot of other modern Sentai, but I sincerely can't think of another show from the last 5 years that's been as consistently solid throughout. If Kyuranger is the beginning of a new era of Sentai, Zyuohger is a fitting send off for the old era. Can't wait for the finale! Last edited by Kamen Rider Lucha; 02-01-2017 at 02:05 PM.. |

Pretty good episode, but seriously, the stuff bewteen Yamato and his dad should have been done 20 episodes ago. It is just too late to really give a damn at this point.
I'm so glad this show is over next week. Not because it has been bad, but because I'm so bored with Genis and this plot. |
