I liked it. The whole color switching thing is pretty damn cool. Yeah IMAGINATION is silly, and its for kids, (but I like how they put it in English). And the only complaint was the poor special effects when the minions exploded, really looked bad in my opinion. But otherwise, I do like it. Should be a fun series, and....MALE PINK RANGER....that is all.
Also, I guess the name in english is basicall Express Sentai Limited Express Rangers? (or whatever the ger means, google said tokkyu means limited express). And, what does the gou mean after the japanese number? Like Sun Gou, Ichi Gou? Last edited by Sanddeath; 02-20-2014 at 05:25 AM.. |

The gou is pretty much the japanese equivalent to #.
1Gou/Ichigou = #01/Number 01 |

ToQIchigou! ToQIchigou! I hate that a little bit in the show. It just takes twice as time to finish the roll call and transformation.

Anyone get the feeling that unlike other Sentai, the giant mecha battles are invisible to the general populace? Or that they don't even physically affect the world?

Caught episode 1 last night. Overall I enjoyed it, although it was a bit sillier than I thought it was going to be. But that's okay, nothing wrong with silly. Loved all the train jokes and references (the Crow having to get behind the white line was great, as was Right forgetting to scan his pass). I liked the scrolling text on the Rainbow Line cars ("Next Stop: ToQ Punch!") as well.
The Shadow Line designs were sharp, for the most part. I also liked their base, with the many different spur lines coming out of it. I liked the IMAGINATION! stuff at the beginning, where what the kids imagined was real. And then the very scary idea of the girl being kidnapped while right next to her mother, as a parent, that was creepy. I had passed on both Go-Busters and Kyoryuger but I will be watching this one. So looks like this episode did it's job.

Not really. It's been less extreme these last years. The mechas of the good always manage to not destroy the city, while the bad guys usually do so. But it's by far not as bad than in older seasons. I was watching Zyuranger during the last weeks and whoa, they destroyed the city like every two episodes. Even Daizyujin often crashed into buildings himself, which is something you won't see (so often) in any of the seasons of, say the last 10 years.

Well, not every roll call can be as short as those in Gokaiger or Go-Busters. Actually, we had seasons with longer roll calls than Toqger. If I'm not completely mistaken, Dekaranger was awfully long as well.

I was thinking since the whole imagination aspect is played up, perhaps the battle happens on a different plane or is a psychological battle or something.
