I just came up with an idea for an Avengers sequel that is fairly unrealistic in terms of legality but I think is still somewhat awesome.
The story would be a hybrid of Infinity Gauntlet and Secret Wars. Essentially, Thanos has obtained the Infinity Gauntlet and has collected most of the Infinity Stones and seeks to obtain the rest of them. Standing in his way, however, is the Beyonder, who possesses the Tesseract. Using the Tesseract, he assembles a team of heroes from across the multiverse: the Avengers, the Defenders, the Guardians of the Galaxy, the X-Men, and Spider-Man (who I would imagine just fell in by accident). Basically, it would be an inter-company crossover movie in which all of the silverscreen Marvel heroes team up and defeat Thanos, with character development and humor mixed in at the perfect amount. It's an incredibly rudimentary idea, but I'd like to see it happen. It probably won't, though. Stupid legal issues. Ruining our childhood fantasies. |

Well with the inclusion of Quicksilver and Scarlet Witch, who even knows any more? From what I understand, Fox owns naming rights but not character rights, so that is why Avengers can use mutants, they just can't address them as such. The question is though, is how many knock offs of their own characters, will they want to include? As for Sony and Spider-Man, I'm pretty sure this is a different case entirely, especially as it looks like they're gonna spin out ASM into a mega franchise with the talks of the Venom Movie and the Secret Six films.
"This isn't Spider-Man, it's errr...the Arachnid Miracle!" "...seriously?"

However the Beyonder bringing together the Guardians of the Galaxy, the Defenders, and the Avengers together I can definitely see happening.

This image also comes to mind:
And the fact that he's watched the love of his life die (on multiple occasions), he hates himself (or at least, his past self hates his present self), he accidentally killed the most prominent father figure in his life, and his appearances in the movies. I didn't much care for Cyclops growing up as he was boring. In recent years he became one of my favorites by doing whatever it took to save his people. They gave a him a lot of solid development and set him up with Magneto and Wolverine looking to him out of respect. Then AvX ruined a good thing. In my mind Cyclops and the X-Men hit pause at the end of Second Coming and are still there doing their thing lol. Loved Uncanny X-Force though. X-Men books can often be a hard read for many reason and there is way too many books out (one of the reasons). I still enjoy the characters and ever now and then it looks like they might be fixing the books but they can't decide what they want to do with them. |

I'm surprisingly ok with Spidey remaining in his own universe.

I just realized something—Sony has the rights to Peter Parker. But do they have the rights to Miles Morales? Because, if not, I think we have the potential for an appearance by the Arachnid Miracle.

I'm pretty sure they have the rights to the entire Spider-Man franchise. Spider-Man is an umbrella rather than a single point.
