It was the scene at Drupers, where he gets all mopey about how he can't control anything, is just an outsider, and the weight of everything crushing. It just seemed like backsliding on the decisions the character made just the last episode. Which when you're battling with the Overlords in one episode, and looking/acting the same as a prior episode just a short term later seems the definition of wishy washy. So I don't feel I used the term incorrectly. Perhaps I misinterpreted the way the scene was written. Or perhaps I'm not defining it correctly, but I'd like it stated that it wasn't for the sake of intelligence.
Acknowledging the problems and stresses he's going under isn't "mopey." He's never said these adversities stopped him, just that they exist. (Because Gridon was saying his life was care-free. He was telling him nobody is care-free) Next time you recognise any stress or undesirable circumstance in your life, do you consider yourself "mopey?" It's ridicuous how we're so conditioned by smiling idiot protagonists who let nothing faze them that someone going "man this is gonna be tough" in the face of a serious problem apparently is backtracking on decisions and can't make up his mind. Jeez I can only imagine how you'd react to someone who did that in real life. "Hey you wanna help me build a shed?" "Sure, I can do that. It's gonna take a while tho-" "WELL FINE IF YOU CAN'T MAKE UP YOUR MIND THEN DON'T BOTHER!" Kouta's still looking for the Overlords, and on top of that he has to keep fighting rouge Invess. (a point brought up this very episode) And on top of that he still needs some form of life of his own, his friends, his sister, relaxation, time to think about all this. Just because nobody else in this show seems to have parents or a life outside of specific tasks (like no shit, with all the emphisis on how young they are, NOBODY APPARENTLY LIVES WITH ANYONE. Kaito I can understand maybe lives alone, but others?) doesn't mean these moments of downtime and consideration equal ambiguity. |

This episode was very Gaim, and I mean that in the best possible way. Comedy episodes are usually a way for toku to coast without having to result to all out padding but not only did Gaim throw together a genuinely hilarious episode but they also chucked in some real bombshells in there as well to make the episode worth your while, even if it wasn't packed quite to the brim like other episodes.
It was great. Probably one of the most enjoyable episodes in a while.

You think Oren still has the Lock-Vehicle from episode 11? 'Cause if not, it looks like Bravo's going on an extended vacation to Helheim.

Um....k
Also, I feel so very stupid now. I kept thinking they were saying half the fruit in English and the other half in Japanese, but turns out Orange really is orenj in Japanese, as is Mango, Mango, and Dorian Dorian. Now I feel kinda stupid. |

DJ Sagara... what are you?
And so the awkward man crush between Orren and Jounichi began. The beginning fight scene in this episode really harkened back to the beginning and I wish we had more of that. Holy shit Jounichi broke down? Damn, that was a pretty good scene and character development. And I was cheering when he finally transformed. FINALLY! Oh course Ryoma is going to immediately think that all of those forbidden fruit stories are related to Helheim, because's he fucking crazy. Plus, we learned why he hasn't transformed into Duke in a while, because he's been looking up ancient conspiracies all day. (LOL JK) But seriously, if Ryoma's theory turned out to be true, then there might be more Overlords or a civilization of them. DJ says that Helheim is selecting the strong and there's worse to come so I imagine we might be getting Gaim teaming up with some Overlords soon to combat this new evil. The comedy in this episode while fun at times felt really annoying to me at certain spots. The juice bar girl hitting Bravo with a broom looks like it came out a stupid ass anime. And Gaim having trouble fighting Orren. Mother fucker, turn into Kachidoki and breath on him and he'll never touch you again, that's how powerful you are. It was another good episode but it felt really....out of place. Not that I don't like comedy episodes but that these two characters which have been out of the loop for so long that thier subplot is going to be finding out about shit that happened 10 or more episodes ago is annoying. |

I quite liked this episode.
Jounouchi got character development and fucking finally realized he shouldn't have ditched Hase, the jokes were funny, particularly the part where Kota and Oren fell down the stairs and still tried to fight despite the literal pains in their asses, Oren showed that he isn't a complete prick, for what that's worth, Zack continued to be bro tier, and for once, Micchy wasn't obsessing over Mai like a creepy stalker and decided to help Kota with the Inves problem....even if it was only for the opening, AND more Kachidoki Arms kickassery. Although if I had some complaints, it would be Kota getting interrupted from telling Hideyasu that Ryoji is dead, the fact that Hideyasu still seems to only be good as a meat shield when I was hoping he'd be able to actually fight for once, the lack of appearance on the Overlords part, because right now they're one of the most interesting parts of the show, and finally, the fact that it took Jounouchi and Oren this FUCKING long to realize that things done changed, and that there's more going on than they realized. very poor episode in my opinion
Firstly, Mr. Acorn got no real development. Oh he discovered he can muster up the will to jump in and help? Been there done that. Also, it's completely contrary to the tone the show has set since like episode 12. Comedy is fine, but it was a giant filler, and it wasn't even funny. I really hope they don't shift gears and make the rest of the season goofy after all that work setting up an intriguing story and tone. |

I absolutely loved this episode. I love how Knuckle was like Gaim's secondary Rider, and that he kicked ass, and Micchy actually did something not douchey this episode too OMG! lol. Jounochi actually felt like he gained courage, I hope that this leads to something more for him. Oren was absolutely silly and fantastic in helping Jounochi, I hope we seen more of him after he jumped through the crack. Kachidoki Form is totally badass and I love seeing it. Can't wait for the next episode.
