Nobunaga the Fool: Nobunaga, Jean of Arc, and Leonardo Da Vinci fight against Julius Caesar in giant mechs powered by mystical jewels.
No seriously, it's a thing. And it's kind of cool, the story follows the conflict between the stars of the west and east, a war that a young Nobunaga gets in the middle of after receving "The Fool" a prototpye unit created by Leo... Ok, I can't describe this show without laughing. Nobunaga's biggest problem is that it tries to tackle too much genres and ideas at once, making them feel shallow, there are seeds for some interesting political intrigue, but it rarely goes anywhere, the story takes inspiration invarious moments of the real Nobunaga... when it feels like doing so, the action combining mechs with regular infatry is fascianting... the few times it shows up. As a whole it comes across as interesting, and it's always fun, but it's not a great show per se. If the idea of historical figures duking it out in mechs appeals to you, give it a try, it'll be fun, but not outstanding. Chuunibyo demo koi ga shitai Ren: I can't believe I learned how to type that... Anyways, did you enjoy Season 1? This one is more of the same. The main conflict is solved, but the relationships continue to develop. The new girl is a cool character, and thankfully isn't shoved in every scene. You know the humor, you know the characters, you know if you'll like it. I had fun with it. |

Started watching Gundam Wing. Doesn't seem so bad so far. Deathscythe is as awesome as I thought he would be from my experience of playing the fighting game.

Watched The Girl Who Leapt Through Time recently. I really liked it. It was oozing with charm and was a quite relaxing to watch.
It wasn't without issues, though this may be just subjective to me. I felt at times the pace of the movie was too slow, as if certain scenes were artificially lengthened to add to the running time. Also, things started to get a bit difficult at the end, and I struggled to try to keep sense of the logic or the reasons behind things. Emotionally, the ending was very satisfactory, but I felt distracted as I tried to understand what was going on, or why characters made certain decisions. Still, it's a fantastic movie worth watching, and a good end to a tired day. It's not heart-racing exciting or roll-on-the-floor funny, but it has a bit of both and is just too charming to not be entertaining. In that respect it is very similar to a Studio Ghibli movie. Definitely do recommend it, and anyone here who has seen it, I'd love to discuss the spoilery plot details with you guys!

Watched some more of Wing and I'm still enjoying it so far. I do have a few little gripes though, they being that Relena is annoying, Heero is just bleh, and there's not been any real knockout drag out fight yet with the Gundams themselves. Other then those three things I'm liking it so far.
I'm also going to start watching Build Fighters so I can also see what a modern Gundam show is like. Though to be frank so far I have yet to get pulled into or become excited for a Gundam episode. Honestly at the moment going off of now and past experiences, Gundam may end up just being a "Buy the toys cause they're cool but the shows are meh." Then again considering I just came off a very deep (if flawed) mecha show in Evangelion, maybe the lingering fun and excitement of that is lessening my enjoyment of Gundam... ...or it could be that the story is boring right now and not hooking me in one single bit.

You shouldn't have watched Wing, man. It had a boring story. So I decided to randomly watch some clips from Persona 4 the animation. And holy shit Yu does not act like that in the game. The dude is stripping and smooth talking everybody. And to hear what is essentially Adachi's voice coming out of Yu's body makes it even more hilarious due to the adachi,"bitches and whores," meme. |

You should check it out. It kind of improves... at times... And Zechs is cool... even if he's Char 2.0. Ah, the club scene? That was hilarious. They might have gone overboard, but seeing him act "drunk" was a change I enjoyed. And many of his lines come straight from the game anyways. |
