With the bittersweet news of Akibaranger's English subs still fresh, I thought we all needed a little pick me up. I was wondering since the Toxic Avenger movies are in a sense live action films with special effects have been watched by anyone here.

I'm working my way through Citizen Toxie and it's darkly funny and has a good chunk of gore to it as well. I'm also looking for a Toxic Avenger wikia to find out more about this toxic hero from my childhood.

Since there actually wasn't another Toxic Avenger thread , please feel free to carry on.

My earliest memories of Toxic Avenger was at a young age and quite the unfortunate one. I'd watched some of Toxic Crusaders during its brief television run and during one particular visit to the local video rental store, our father decided that we should rent one of Toxie's live-action films. This was with no familiarity of the source material whatsoever. Can you guess what happened about five minutes into the film, when Toxie confronted some bad guys and started jumping rope with one guy's intestines?!

I was never much into gore and gross stuff when I was young, and I'm still not to a point. That film wasn't the cause of that, but it damn sure solidified that stance for years to come!

I have a odd relationship with gore. When it over the top like in Troma's movies or silly I can watch it no problems. But seeing surgery and stuff like that makes me winch like nothing else.

Now my mom on the other hand always covers her eyes when something gross and/or gory comes up on screen. I highly doubt she'd enjoy the Toxic Avenger series.
