My first ever was the original '93 Megazord and Dragonzord, followed by Titanus. All bought within a few months of each other.
My most recent one bought was Lightspeed Rescue and Astro Megazord... |

My first mecha was the Samurai Megazord. I started watching Power Rangers with my boyfriend when we first got together four years ago. He was a massive Power Rangers fan and made me watch it with him and I was surprised by how much I enjoyed it. We soon saw MMPR through to Mystic Force before we bought the Samurai DVDs. I've always been a big toy collector so I was interested in trying the Power Ranger toys out and got the Samurai line because that's what was available. It was a huge downgrade from my Transformers, but I still enjoyed it, blissfully unaware of BOJ.
Once we discovered Sentai my first BOJ mecha was Gokaioh. My partner bought me Gokaioh, a Mobirates (My first morpher), Gaolion and Magidragon for my birthday, because Gokaiger was my favourite PR/SS series. Since then we now own nearly every main mecha (plus a lot of auxiliaries and secondary mecha and nearly every main morpher) from Megaranger through to ToQger. We take it in turns to buy our next mecha/morpher/Figuarts to steadily grow our PR/SS collection. Our latest purchase was a MIB Gingaioh and a MISB Zyuranger Thunder Slinger that I've hidden away for part of his birthday present next week for his MMPR display. I had Power Rangers megazords since I was a kid. Unfortunately, my megazords were lost when we moved to South Carolina. Luckily, a friend has bestowed upon me the bulk of his collection, and it's as if I've had them all along.
I love friends. ~<3 |

I was slightly too old for Power Rangers when I was growing up, but a younger neighbor had the MMPR Megazords, Thunder Megazords, and Zeo Megazord. I've always been into transforming robots, so I enjoyed how large they were and that they combined.
2010-ish while collecting some other retro series, I picked up the original MMPR Megazord, Dragonzord, Thunder Megazord, and Tigerzord. Having not paid attention to Power Rangers since Turbo, I looked back over their older offerings and instantly fell in love with Magiking. So I picked it up, started to collect the current Power Rangers Samurai zords (because they were cheap), and got a complete Super Zeo Megazord for free from a friend in return for selling some of his old TFs on eBay and finding him a complete RPM Ultrazord for less than $200. After that, I've just cherry picked various mecha throughout the years that I liked the design of, sold ones that didn't quite hold a lasting appeal, and kept collecting US ones (because they can be cheap). My collection is currently pretty stable. The only figures left I'd want are way too old and expensive for me to chase after (Bio Robo, Change Robo, Flash King) |

Please correct me if I'm in the wrong place to ask this, but to those that collect Megazords &/or Mecha; how do you choose to display them? I wanna get some PR Megazords but I'm not sure how'd I'd go about placing them in my room considering the amount of space to deal with. Tables? Shelves? And do you keep them in robot form or have them in their individual pieces? Why or why not?

I never really started collecting as much as it was an excuse for me to keep buying and playing with toys. As for my first, oh god let me think i was born in 94 so hoping I am remembering right. The first ones that were not my older brothers' was warrior wheel from zeo then the carriorzord from turbo. The first actual megazords i got was astro megazord, voyager megazord, and mega winger for christmas when i was like 3 or 4.

My first was actually not a Megazord, it was the BioRobo ST. I still have it but it's missing all the accessories (fists, sword, shield,...).
I purchased the DX version a few years back with the BioDragon, that was my childhood dream to have this version. BioRobo is still by a very long run my favorite sentai mecha, & the DX toy is just glorious!!! |
