I can tell you from meeting JDF in person on several occasions that he's still an outright asshole. The guy is more full of himself than you can possibly imagine. It shattered the entire concept I had of him from my childhood after I met him.
One example, he was in Lexington for a local comic convention, as were several other PR alums. He did a martial arts exhibition that went over crazy well and then he left the room. I went to the bathroom and happened to run into him there. Where I caught him smoking, which isn't legal in a public facility here, and talking to himself about how disgusting the place was and that he thought he was gonna get a disease from walking around with no shoes on. He had taken them off for the exhibition and then not put them back on for some reason.
He also threw a fit because the organizers didn't get him a couch to lounge on at his booth when he didn't feel like signing anymore. I can definitely see how he would have been a bit of a douche on set.
