It's been building up for 30 episodes now. The plot should have started kicking off in the early teens.

Started watching Gekiranger a few days ago, up to episode 11. The series so far has been pretty good, although I think Ran and Retsu are interesting, but kinda generic characters, the stars of the show are clearly Jan, Rio, and Mele. Geki Elephant was pretty cool, although going into it, I expected Elephant, Shark, and Bat to show up a lot sooner.

Got to Episode 15, pretty great, I liked the Bodygaurd guys, pretty good villains. Also, was kid Jan played by the same kid as not-Wataru?

Up to Episode 25, Gou is another great addition to the show, and I guessed that Retsu's brother was GekiViolet when they first brought him up and mentioned that he was "Like a Wolf." Also, Rio is possibly one of my favorite characters, and not just on Gekiranger.

On Episode 25 or so of Gokaiger. And hoping, very hard, they direct translate Basco somehow into SMF. Sally, not so much. But after seeing her in action I understand now why she's a Figuarts Zero figure. She doesn't move much out of that squat pose anyway.

Got to Episode 35 of Gekiranger, GekiChopper's an okay character, I like him, but he's definitely my least favorite of the five. Them taking down the Kenma was awesome, I loved how it pretty much showed how they had grown throughout the show, and Rio telling Jan to take out Maku, even though that was his goal, just because Jan had recognized his strength was a pretty good moment too.

Finished Gekiranger. Simply amazing series. Great characters, I loved every second of it. It is probably one of my favorite Toku series. It's actually the first Sentai show I've seen in it's entirety. I totally didn't expect Mele and Rio to die, especially sacrificing themselves to save the Gekirangers... Excuse me... I need to cry a little... And that ending with Jan meeting that kid who resembled Rio...

Also, planning on watching either Magiranger or Shinkenger next, which do you guys recommend?
