I've been a Power Rangers fan for 12 years and it was the greatest thing that ever happened to my childhood. Happy Birthday Power Rangers and I hope for many, many more!

"You're welcome" and "thanks" are kind of the opposite things.
Technically they should both be thanking Spider-man and/or Kamen Rider. :I |

Well Goranger is the first Super Sentai. Without it, Power Rangers would never exist. That's why they said "You're Welcome" .

I was 16 when I first watched the originals, and have watched every series.
True story: Jennifer Yen's outfit in Lightspeed Rescue still makes her one of the hotter villains IMO. Astronema's story arc and then Karone's turn into a Ranger is my jam. Always. I had a major crush on Jessica Rey (Wild Force) when it was airing. Which is how I got through watching Wild Force. Just like how Angie Diaz got me through Mystic Force. Thank you ladies. Operation Overdrive is the first time I turned off the TV. I had to watch it years later because I just disliked the entire plot. I will contend to this day that RPM is my favorite series hands down. The ability to turn GoOnger into something so vastly different is mind boggling. Love both, watch both, don't hate. RPM didn't kill PR. Mickey Mouse did. I enjoyed SPD so much I may have wiggled my fingers for two years every time I said the word "buttery". I may have squealed when I realized JDF was brought on for Dino Thunder. At some point I accepted that Jason David Frank is part of the legacy, for better or worse. Sin Wong is possibly the most awesome stage name ever. I may have cried when Time Force ended. I definitely cried when I found out Thuy Trang died. There may have been some reenacting of Ranger transformations in my twenties. And thirties. True story.

So many memories. Don't know where to start.
I'll just say that when the Command Center blew up at the end of MMPR, I was in a state of shock at the thought that Zordon and Alpha were dead. Cried when Zordon died. Cried when I found out that Thuy Tsang was dead. Even tried to find out where she was buried, never found out. Squealed every time I saw JDF on screen thought the years. Especially when he returned in Green for PRSMF. Though I do believe he needs to get a new bag, stick to your new shtick in MMA, sweetie!! Was partially astounded to see the rangers come back for the Legendary Battle, especially when it showed them individually getting their powers back. Squealed when Adam came back, not just for In Peace, but also for in "Once a Ranger". Good to see that this current series is thriving and will hopefully be the revival PR has long needed.

I was 11 when it came out. In fact, I learned about it about a month and a half before it aired from a toy magazine that showed off the upcoming toys. They also called Goldar Flyguy in it and said there would be a green ranger in October, so I already knew what to expect. I then say the Fox commercials and knew I had to watch it. Then when it aired, I was hooked ever since.
As for random memory stuff: I watched Ninja Quest like twice a day for a week after it aired. I also watched the last actual MMPR episode about 50 times as I waited for Alien Rangers to premier. For Zeo, I was there for every little short that was shown on the reruns before Zeo premiered. Also, I watched the Arrowhead arc many times until the King for a Day arc aired, then I watched that one a lot. Oh, and I was in love with the Thunderzords the moment they showed up on that Thursday night when they aired the three parter with the X-Men season premier. I made a bet with my friend about the white ranger and lost. He cheated though because he got some card in a magazine that told him it was Tommy, but he didn't tell me that. I said it wasn't Tommy because the voice on the toy commercials was not Tommy's. For Xmas of 94, I got the Tigerzord, all of the 5 inch Space Aliens, all of the Auto Morphing Rangers, and the Thundrezord Assault Team. I learned about Lord Zedd from an article in TV Guide. During the airing of Season 2, when a commercial came out that said someone was going to get married, my dad says, "Wouldn't it be funny if it was Zedd and Rita?" Oh yeah, and one local shop claimed that now had Power Rangers toys instock. We go in and I thought they were bootlegs because the costumes looked nothing like the Power Rangers. For one thing, there was no black ranger, it was blue, red, pink, yellow, and green. Also, their chests were white and their bikes looked more like unicorns. I was mad and never went back to that store again. If those toys sound familiar, yes, it is because they were the Dairangers. ARGH!!!!! One more thing, I never thought about the black dude being the black ranger and the Asian girl being the yellow ranger until a coworker of mine brought it up in 2001. Hell, I won second place at a diversity poster contest at my dad's work because of the MMPR. Last edited by Dr Kain; 08-28-2015 at 11:34 PM.. |

Also, if it weren't for Spider-man and possibly Kamen Rider as well, Goranger would've never happened. |
