Just picked up my Clone Trooper and Battle Droid.
The Clone's hips are atrocious. Just as bad, if not worse than, the Stormtrooper's. Real shame. Also, mine may have what are easily the absolute worst knee and elbow armor I've ever experienced in a Figuart. They really, reeeeally don't want to stay in and based on past experience where it's a consistent problem across a figure's run, I bet it's not an isolated case either. Still looks nice and crisp, and the all-caps "PHASE I" emblazoned in several places on the boxes has me looking forward to the inevitable Phase II, even though it'll probably have all of the same flaws. The Droid is fantastic. I'm finding it a little difficult to get it to hold the blaster, but otherwise it's everything I could have asked for.

Aw, don't say that! I saw hacchaka's review of the Clone today and thought it looked fantastic, got really excited to get it. Now I'm all nervous about it.
Bandai should really glue in the elbow and knee pads, so we don't have to do it. Or else I should just always try to pull them off, every time I get a new figure, and glue them in place if they come off. EDIT: Also, what do you mean by bad hips? in said review the Clone is kneeling quite well, and looks good. I don't remember being able to get the Stormtrooper to do this. |

They really should.
And that leg is not straight out. It has to be twisted outwards to be able to go forward. To me, that's hindered. And doesn't look great from anything but the right angle. Maybe I do need to work with it more to get more used to how they work, but not being able to just go forward from stock still isn't good to me.

I do remember thinking that Vader didn't need the pull down hips it has, but the Stormtrooper should have gotten those hips instead, and given Vader its hips.

I have seen the Battle Droid gallery form Shishioh and it looks really cool. I don't want to pick one up, but I really look forward to see how they do Grievous. If they could make the Battle Droid work then Grievous should work out pretty well.

I only got the Battle Droid and I have to see it's like figure of the year for me. LOVE it! Tons of personality, really creative articulation cuts, and the hands do seem to hold the blaster really well on mine. Either way I'm in love with that toy. I'll pretty much buy any recolor of it now.
