So this is one of the Zords that I never, ever intended to customize. I found a PVC MiniZord figure at a flea market and couldn't resist articulating it. In case you're wondering, this figure came from a Ninja Storm action playset where the paint apps were minimal and the articulation didn't matter.
The MiniZord was cut up and the shoulders, calves, and chest were hollowed out. A Gundam figure was cut up and the limbs trimmed and shaped to fit the MiniZord pieces. The build portion is pretty much done, may want to go back and increase the range of movement in the feet. Then it'll be touch ups, a quick bath, a base coat of primer, and finally paint. He stands at around 4 inches or so which is fine. I never intended him to be the standard retrofire height of 6 inches or so. He is supposed to be "mini" after all. Lol. This little guy turned out exactly as I imagined and overall, I'm happy with how it's come together. Nothing like cramming 15 points of articulation into a very tiny package. I'm curious though to hear any thoughts, comments, or criticisms about this figure before it hits paint (probably on Sunday at the earliest). If you think the proportions look screwy or something doesn't look right, let me know. |
