Honestly, if I were to rewatch a series, it'd probably be Dekaranger. It's so bland that I barely remember anything
Well, it seems only one person doesn't have a glowing review for Gingaman, so I guess I'll try Ginga then GoGoV!

Was that mine? Because I still love Gingaman, there are just other series I like more. Gingaman would probably be my 11th or 12th favorite Sentai show.
It's definitely worth watching. In fact, my plan after I review Kaku and finish up the Gundam series that will be out next month is to watch Mega, then PRiS, then Ginga, followed by PRLG, and finally, GoGoV with LSR afterwards. What is going to be great is that this will be my first time watching those three Sentai series subbed since I've only seen them raw (Mega once, Ginga 5 times, and GoGoV 6 times). |

I'm around 30 episodes into Gingaman and I really like it. I think the action is sorta generic (don't love their upgraded suits or the kiba blades) but the cast is likeable and the story is rock solid. The Barban are diverse and have an interesting dynamic, too. If Gingaman finishes strong it'll probably be in my overall top ten.

Ah, nothing like spending a full day on Kakuranger. I watched episodes 12-33 today and they were glorious. This may be my 8th time watching this show, but it still manages to impress me. So much greatness going on. I'm now past the episodes I had already seen subbed before, so this is going to be an interesting experience to watch the final 20 episodes subbed for the first time. A shame Junior is gone though as he is my favorite Sentai villain ever. I should probably say "thus far" given that Sentai is still going on, but I doubt Toei will ever make a villain like him ever again.

I finished Kakuranger today and man, what a great series. Tomorrow I will start getting my script together for my review of it. On the other hand, I did want to point out that Shout's discs were far from perfect with their subs this time around as half of the episodes had their subs not timed properly. There were even moments where the subs would pop up after a character has already said their piece, which was kind of annoying. It was terriblly noticeable outside of a couple instances, but still a nuisance.

Kakuranger, easily my second favorite Sentai.
I gotta get a start on Gingaman, but I owe Sideswipe and I should get to watching GL...

Anyway, I decided to just start Megaranger tonight and got through the first 7 episodes. This is actually my first time watching the show subbed so it was kind of nice. The opening episodes are still majorly slow though, but there are things I like about, especially the villains. Hineler and Yugande are pretty awesome. The concept behind a video game designed to pick soldiers is kind of dumb though. Like why didn't they pick that Arcade Bully guy since the kids talk about how great he is at the game? Obviously I'm just coming off the high of Kakuranger though, so I might be being a little overly critical because I did enjoy them, just not as much as I was hoping I would now that I'm seeing them subbed. It's still an interesting dynamic despite how dumb it is and the cast is likable even though I don't really think the world should be leaving saving the world in the hands of high schoolers. In the real world, we would all be ****ed. Last edited by Dr Kain; 05-29-2016 at 11:32 PM.. |

Watched episodes 8-11 of Megaranger tonight and man, it is so weird that the series just suddenly jumps into having 22 minute episodes out of the blue. I feel like it kind of hurt the show's pacing a little bit as you really do feel the extended running time. Nevertheless, these were some damn good episode, especially the one with Yugande's battle and the Rose monster one. The two bat monsters were kind of cool, although I don't know why the writers had this obsession with using a bat monster twice in a row. They didn't even have a throwaway joke about it. Oh, and getting to learn about Dr Hineler's past already was a nice detail as we don't usually see a Sentai series do something like that until closer to the end of the show.

Finally started watching Zyuohger again because I made it to the crossover episode in Ghost and wanted to watch them in order. Man, what a disappointment Zyuohger 7 was.

Yeah, the seventh episode is utter garbage and the worst episode of the show so far. I wasn't all that thrilled with 12-15, but they weren't anywhere near as bad as that one.
