ok ok, first to so no one gets into trouble...no plugging one's site lol..BUT...

For those with sites...just general questions...

What made you want to review?

What criteria do you pic your figures?

Have you ever paid for something KNOWING it is bad just to review it?

How does your family, spouse, BF, GF or room mate feel about you doing all this?

last but not least...how do you afford your stockpile?

to start things off....

What made you want to review?

For me, of course seeing guys like Thew, TJ Omega and Vangelus just struck a chord for me...but of course, I wanted to put my own spin on things. Some reviewers I found were either all humor, others would just draw it out a bit much...

What criteria do you pic your figures?
Anything that a) is just "stands out there" like the KR Riders and of course transformers and b) stuff I find cool to do for the hell of it, like I reviewed a Throttlebot once...

Have you ever paid for something KNOWING it is bad just to review it?
I still keep getting tempted to review an Armada Sideswipe, but I will say TJ Omega's Plastic Addict series does that best. My Miles Morales figure review though I did have fun tearing that toy up lol

I am beyond lucky my wife lets me have my horde lol. I figure she lets me do it to keep tabs on me...

last but not least...how do you afford your stockpile?
I am lucky to have a good sales job plus it helps to shop within the fandom. I have held off on certain big ticket items like the Make Toys Giant, tanker trailer and a few other 3rd party items though.

I'm no longer a reviewer, but I did use to review games and shows.

Unfortunately, none of the questions pertain to me, since they are all pretty specifically tailored to toy reviewers.

I don't do reviews, but I think reviewers review whats new. More views that way... likes, ad clicks, whatever and they get paid by YouTube.

As for stockpiles, I think some reviewers buy, review, and then sell while the item is still new.

I'm trying to get into a career doing magazine/online journalism (which is slowly starting to go places ), and wanting to be a reviewer was a big part of me making that decision. I started up the blog originally as simply a way to make sure I was writing so I was never out of practice, but I've got a lot more fond of it since and now can't see me stopping it unless I really had to.

Right now its pretty much anything I want and can afford. The only rule I have is that I only buy things I've seen the show/played the game/whatever.

Nope, can't afford be that choosy at the moment Although I do show reviews on my blog too, and have both Power Rangers Turbo and Masked Rider reviews planned for the near future. I'm not paying, but I'm still putting myself through them.

My parents don't really have an opinion, although my Dad (who's a big comics/sci-fi geek himself) often comments on how he can see that my Japanese figures are much better than Western ones. My girlfriend encourages it, mainly because she does it herself She doesn't do reviews, but she's a big Figma/Nendoroid collector and does a lot of photoshoots for her tumblr.

Not very well at the moment! I'm in the middle of looking for a full time job at the moment so I'm not really getting many figures at the moment. What I am getting is mostly coming from Transformers and various other bits I've been selling on ebay.
