I read that spoiler. Now I'm excited.
I haven't watched any of this show yet. I'll get to it. |

I haven't touched the raw, but hype levels have reached maximum.

Episode 12: This was the best episode of the freaking show! Besides seeing the awesome team up of Rekka and Rian, Kouga's return was freaking amazing! It was all the hype to see Kouga. He was kick ass and awesome but he said he will return, I have to wonder if they are teasing us for another Kouga series or just teasing us. Rekka and Rian were a blast together and how different they are. Also great fight between them too. This made the series worth it.

Best episode of the series by far. Granted, that's not a high bar, but this was definitely the one episode so far that's felt the most like Garo. Even when it looked a little dodgy, it was so nice to have some proper green screen crazy special effects settings.
I was expecting something special for the finale - someone special, if I'm being honest. I was pretty disappointed to see Rekka early on, though. I was afraid this would end on a dud, but then Rian showed up, drawing a pretty loud "WHAT!?" from me. It was fun seeing the two together, even if I'm really confused now if they're establishing the Ryuga series as an alternate Earth instead of the semi-distant future. It seemed to be the former, but there were still some references to time periods, so I have no idea. I liked seeing them interact, but was still a little disappointed when Mayuri didn't show up to join them. The best part of the episode, though, was when Garo showed up riding Gouten. The moment I saw the green eyes I knew who it was and I'm glad we actually got to see him without the armor. I was hoping we'd get to see Kouga again and, even it just for a few minutes, it was so great to see him back in action. I wish they'd gotten Kaoru, too, but I'll take this for now, especially with the implications that this story still isn't over. I have no idea what's next for our original characters, but I'm hopeful that we'll be getting something in the near future. So, in the end, that was Makai Retsuden. Largely disappointing, but occasionally transcendent. A bit surprising that they didn't get any of the TOWSITD cast, but it was still great to see almost every other major character (that doesn't have an upcoming series in 2017, at least) again. The ending, at least, really did succeed in reminding me why I love this franchise so much. |

we have another Golden Knight sitting. and it's Kouga the one we all were hoping to see. Kouga finally popped up completing the Garo hat trick. Okay we only got about 30 seconds of Ryuga in Rain's episode but it still counts. Hell considering how the series was described I thought we be lucky if we got an episode featuring Kouga's dad Taiga. actually, now that I think about it I'm a little disappointed we didn't get an episode featuring Taiga. well matbe if they decide to do a season 2 of Makai Restsuden The story itself was pretty good, I liked how it tied in with the ending episodes of Makai no Hana and featuring, which i never really considered until this episode pointed it out, the closest thing to an arch enemy Garo is going to have. Rekka and Rain where pretty cool together, although fighting to figure out who was going tobe te alpha female was a bit much. Guess you can't go anywhere without heroes fight than team up trope sneaking in.
Over all I liked this particular series. It's not everybody cup of tea obviously but I enjoyed the look at the various character the franchise have introduced over the last 10 years. |

Loved this episode, loved having Kouga back, always happy to see Rekka and Rian (though their little match felt eh to me). This did just make me realize though, when is Ryuga going to fight Zaji himself? They should make it nice and even with all the current live-action Garos having had a go taking him on at least once (now twice for Kouga).

The last episode felt like a tease of a crossover project involving Kouga, Raiga and Ryuuga. I hope we'll get that, considering that Kouga's actor is still willing to reprise his role.
