No trailer at Power Morphicon is somewhat worrying.

tbh I'm VERY curious how this movie will go. It seems like it's stuck, as people will think it's just for kids or an Iron Man ripoff

That's because it is, and it's Power Rangers; thanks to the stigma from the original show (I can't even say nostalgia since it's getting equal marketing to the current airing show for some reason), the bad acting combined with nonsensical dialogue during the gymnastics portion, it's not surprising adults aren't looking in a less than stellar light.

I don't get how people will say something like PR has a bad stigma and yet TMNT and Transformers but does not. How come those two can be view as something seriously but not PR. I mean humanoid turtles that fight crime and eat pizza is no different than teenagers fighting monsters.

After 2007, Transformers was taken more seriously seeing that we got bigger budget video games like War for Cybertron and Devastation. Not to mention more comic books as well. Before 2007, Transformers was mostly remember as a cartoon from the 1980's then the movie was a huge hit in 2007 that got non fans into the franchise. I hope the new PR movie will do the same thing and the bad stigma for PR will be gone.
I know Power Rangers will always be for kids, but I do wish it was a IP that more people would take it for more seriously like we do with TMNT and Transformers.

And sorry but considering the fact that the studio isn't putting much effort into this *the blatant Iron Man ripping off* I doubt it. Why? I mean I get wanting to get more people into the franchise but what's wrong with people just seeing it as a goofy kid's show*which it is*? |

It's fine that PR is a goofy show for kids, but so are Transformers and TMNT. I wish people view PR beyond just being a silly show. I don't mean make it dark and serious. I mean look at the universe and stories and do more with it. With Transformers, the franchise has grown a lot after 2007 with more stuff added to the franchise.

In the case of TMNT let us not forget that the source material was considered dark and it was the cartoon that made it the light-hearted daily adventures the majority know.

Yeah and yet I still don't get how teenagers who fight monsters in spandex is view as stupid and cheesy while mutant humanoid turtles who fight crime, eat pizza and have cheesy one liners are is more acceptable to general people. Same with Transformers with Mega Zords being mock at for being stupid while Transformers have giant robots and people are cool with it.
I want the bad PR stigma to be gone because I want the PR series to be a franchise to be enjoy by everyone. When Transformers Prime aired on TV, it had both kids and adults watching it. Even Combiner Wars is market as a TF show for the older fans. I still hope the new PR movies does well that it can become a bigger franchise and move on from just a nostalgic TV show.
