It's more modern (90's) technology, really. They barely leave orbit beyond to get the Mega Voyager, and the Megaranger video game pops up, like, 3 times. It's really forgettable.

If this turns out to be true, I hope they actually do what I wanted to see them do with Dekaranger and have them actually travel to various planets.

Hmm... if they have them protecting a set of worlds, they'd probably be able to both make interesting locales as well as save on money compared to if they try to make a new world every single episode.
Although, in that case, I'd probably be more interested in the Power Ranger version, TBH, because, any other faults you may have with them, PR original costumes tend to look better compared to their SS counterparts, especially alien designs. Just IMO, but I prefer SPD Kruger to the Deka version by a wide margin. They could also cheap out of having alien civies and just have it all be human colonies... but that's kind of boring IMO. |

I hope protecting different worlds than just fighting in Japan.

I think more interesting locales would be great! But I wouldn't advise getting your hopes up. Last edited by Kamen Rider Lucha; 11-16-2016 at 05:19 PM.. |

Agreed. I probably laughed for a few good minutes when I saw Doggie's SS counterpart. And people call PR cheap, they couldn't even cover the zipper. I think it's because PR tends to either use prosthetics, or more intricate animatronics for more expression. SS tends to favour full body costumes with simple, if any, animatronics. Mesogog was the perfect example of what good prosthetics can do.
However, to be completely fair, the Alien Rangers look like trash.

The Super Sentai production crew relies on the same urban and rural locations for every series due to budgetary restraints. If the show features "other worlds," you can be assured those worlds will look exactly like the ubiquitous urban Tokyo exteriors, empty warehouses, and/or rock quarry/beach/forest locations you've seen in every single Sentai series in existence.

Well, I was more thinking the best way to portray other planets would just be to have the civies in alien costumes with some appropriate scenery. Slap a suitable filter on and you have at least a passable foreign world.
I'm well aware of the budget constraints, which is part of limiting the number of "unique" locales so as to portion more time and funds to each, allowing them to be better while still being cost effective. I know that it's all probably set in stone by this point anyway, but it's just something I like to speculate on. |
