Man, as a regretful owner of the original, I have got to get this new one. Now if only it were designed, doll-like, to have the comparatively few parts necessary removed to swap styles, and maybe an add-on box could be sold containing the parts for the other three styles. I've said it before, but I do not want four same-aesthetic Wizards.

Could never get past the first episode of Wizard, but this figure still looks pretty fantastic! Even if I found Wizard boring, through suit design is still pretty great

Wizard had some goregous suits, and this absolutely does it justice

I wrestled with this a bit on the Shinkocchou Seihou Wizard before I figured it out. The trick is to create deep bends in the hem, which give the extra material somewhere to go. I don't recall having to use much pressure on the robe for posing it. I'm guessing you shared my concerns that a stiff wire would make it easy to accidentally get the robe into a permanent, unappealing pose. So far, it seems they used a material that can hold a pose without presenting us with the classic wire-cape problem. |

Seeing this figure in action (so to speak) brings back memories of my introduction to tokusatsu and how I got to be here in the first place. Fitting for the fifth anniversary of such.
Anyway, I feel a bit regretful for not picking this one up, but if/when they do Water Style... Oh that's going to be a day one preorder.

However, I feel like it's also one of the best shows to catch only two episodes of. The designs and effects are gorgeous, the action scenes are terrific, a lot of the cast is charming. I've always kinda wondered what it would take to trim it down to something people would like better. Maybe if it were something closer to 15 episodes, people'd like it more. * - As always, YMMV. No shade intended toward people who liked the series; tastes vary. |

It's such a weird series. Its problems were mostly writing-related: it doesn't know what to do with its supporting cast, and the majority feels like highly repetitive filler. It more or less fails to be satisfying as a series*.
